Well, it's not uncommon for a movie to have one of its first releases be a TS. And TS ones get out pretty often these days as well.

but most of Todays TS are made with a digital cam that are perfectly watchable for the plot , its like you would see a VHS ... but this movie its like watching a black room with sounds lulz

mistere release has great video and good audio, but no subs for the norwegian dialog (of which there isnt much)

I made these if they are of any use...

They are custom made by translating some portuguese subs from the TS release, editing them to make more sense, and syncing them to the video. It has most of the foreign lines, I think. If not, go fuck yourself with a cactus.

Well it seems to have been a success. However I'm a but concerned by the decrease in the file size. The avi was 1.4gb and now it's less than 700mb! I've checked the properties on each file. Both resolutions are the same and the frames per second. The difference is the data rate but I'm not sure what that is, how to fix it or how to correct it should I try again. The subs are hard encoded and look good though.

Just watched R5 version.
My opinion might be biased becouse 1982 thing is one of my favourite movies.
Anyway. I liked it. It had similiar atmosphere. It is the Thing set in that prequel norwegian base which looks even jsut as that from original. And CGI effect are awesome. Still I think that original was better but I cant imagine doing remake better than this. very good.
BUT: (ending spoiler)
 Spoiler: | It doesnt end with a chopper scene. I was expecting it to end just as first Thing start. but no. I dont know why they decided this. Every other thing match. There is twoheaded body. Pack of grenades, norwegian camp layout match original. But it doesnt end with norwegians in the chopper running after infected dog into the american camp. bummer.
But besides that its awesome

heres hoping foir the blu-ray release theres an extended edition that fixes the pacing rather than this faced paced scare-less action-fest, and then it could really be a very good movie.

There was a scene that should have been kept in the film, Kate kills herself along with Sam Carter by setting him on fire while in the helicopter never knowing for sure if he's the thing or not, and neither did the audience.
It would have been usefull since it would have worked really well, just to show the level of paranoia the events brought on.
