The game will be based on one of the biggest American pop culture brands of the last 50 years, and there's no doubt Splash Damage can do the licence justice. However, the project's success will depend a great deal on the backing it gets from the media company that owns the IP – a company widely believed to have given up on the console publishing business. |

I posted about the Disney IP stuff in 2011. So no, not Star Wars.

I actually liked Brink for the most part. The bugs and lack of dedicated servers ruined it though. The gameplay and core mechanics were pretty cool and I, personally, liked the art style. Maybe they can learn from it and make the next game much better.
EDIT: Missed the disney IP.. wtf?

It's going to be a Toon Town FPS where you go around killing Micky clones. All the kids that loved Toon Town are now older and will enjoy killing the different characters with guns instead of pies and water hoses.

Rumors say it's a F2P PC exclusive based on the W:ET mechanics: http://forums.warchestgames.com/showthread.php/33163-11-29-11-29?p=409806&viewfull=1#post409806
| Quote: | Hi there,
Thanks for emailing! Afraid we can’t reveal too much about our unannounced title yet. I can tell you that it’s a PC-exclusive game and that it will be free to download and play.
We’re huge fans of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and we’ll continue to build on the mechanics we established in ET all those years ago.
Kind regards,
Steve |

If it's just a cashshop for cosmetic stuff and the game is just pure like Wolf:ET in a graphics overhaul, then it's all good.
Remember, Wolf:ET was a F2P game aswell, so maybe no cashshop at all (but who am i kidding saying that )

Like i have said many times before, Brink wasn't a mess.
It's the teamplay gameplay in publics that doesn't appeal to the current gen of kids (read gamers) anymore, nobody likes having to do teamwork in public matches...

Brink was a fantastic game let down by a rushed launch and poor communication with fans on day one. In fact, it was the first day of bugs that killed the game, 2 weeks later everything was fixed and running great but by that point it was too late.
I'll be looking forward for something good from Splash Damage, so long as they dont screw up the launch again.. I cant see them making that mistake twice.

Brink was a nice idea. But the whole thing the game was hinging on for its marketing, the movement, was nowhere near as good as they wanted everyone to think it was. Strip that away and all that was left was a game we already had better versions of. TF, TFC, ET or TF2 spring to mind as close relatives.
imo

+1
It was one of the 'best' examples of false advertising. Not to mention the performance problems, bugs and consolish interface/controls, which made things even worse..

BRINK had potential but it felt very clunky to me.
I played it for about day or so and deleted.

Yup, that's the easiest way to describe Brink. Wasted potential.

They seem ashamed of brink, yet it looks the same, shocker.

The only good thing is that it's PC-only, otherwise it looks like a "Brink meets Call of Duty" cross-over. Meh

BRINK 2 announcement soon?
I would welcome it, as i actually enjoyed this game at launch. Sadly it died quickly.

Who would buy Brink 2? Not too many people. And the devs moved on to Dirty Bomb, which is also F2P and considered to be much better game.

They are just trying to kill off Lawbreakers with the F2P.

I never knew, why this game actually failed. I think I had some great fun with it, for a while. Did something else got released at around the same time, that eclipsed it?

It feels like a prototype for Dirty Bomb with dull shooting mechanics and clunky movement. They definitely refined things with DB.
