Just getting this now, I have far too much on the go at the moment, trying to keep up with SR3, Space Marine, Sonic (sad I know) , Ass creed (I actually like it) and lastly GOW3.

Initially I looked at it and thought it looked like a cheapy Steam / Flash PC game, much in the same way I thought of that horrible looking Mega Man game but the more I saw of it the more it looked like a true Rayman game. Me and my daughter spent ages playing and enjoying the 3D game on the cube, tight game play and a lovely sense of fun.

Looks like a nice return to the original 2D format, artwork looks top notch, all hand drawn...

To quote myself from the PC section:

I just tried the demo.

To sum up what I think:

So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win So Much Win

100% pure Rayman. It looks fucking fantastic, the artwork is just brilliant. Semi-3D backgrounds, detailed environments and characters, awesome animations. Sound department obviously isn't special, but it's Rayman alright; all kinds of happy noises, cartoon slaps, that kind of thing - fits perfectly.

And then there's the gameplay; it has a few new elements added, but it's still a classic platformer. The demo bits are quite easy, but I can already smell the frustration of "ARGH FUCKING MISSED THAT JUMP AGAIN" or "FUCKING TIMING FUUUUUUUUU" Very Happy

All I can say is that I want more. Now.

I actually tried the demo on PS3 and thought it was disappointing and not really like the old Rayman 2D games... Felt like another game, even level design is different. I was kinda hoping for something more from the developers behind the original Rayman, Tonic Trouble, and Beyond good & evil...

Also, Rayman doesn't even throw away his punch, it's a different animation now, which is kinda weird..

Gotta agree with the PC bloke, absolutely love it..

Pure joy to look at, great fun to play, yes it will cause a bit of frustration for the 100% people but what a way to spend time.

Love the little swipes at Mario ie the tune it plays when you pick one of big groups of Lums.

So far can't knock one iota of it, platforming goodness..

I can see me and my daughter (a Mario killer at 11) fighting for the Xbox360 to play this.
