its easy, just draw the lines around the area you want to cut out, make a new layer out of it and delete the layer.
so now you ve got a transparent background where you deleted the layer and you can just put the picture over a new one, voilà.
yea i suck at explaining, its too brief cuz i m lazy, well there are alot of good photoshop tutorials out there.

wand automatically searches for edges using alpha channel,
you should draw the lines by yourself for best effects.
the wand tool is only convenient when the background around the object you want to use is unicolour or in a strong contrast to the object.
