Didnt we have this discussion back when Jenni was still here... You now like back in the ancient times.
Besides, the imperial system varies from country to country right?

If somebody tells me temperature in fahrenheit. I have to convert it to celsius, to know how many degrees there are
i know both formulas by heart to convert between the two
I hate US system as much as next guy

you can't be possible compare 10.8.11
to November 8, 2011..two different styles of writing the date imo, my option is way better then first one

So do I, but if random person asks me for time on subway and I tell him,,,it's twenty two and twenty four minutes..that person woulnd't probably know what I'm talking about
I guess for writting I prefer November 8, 2011 but if someone would ask me what date was it, I would respond with..it's eight of november, 2011

If someone asks me for the time at 21:30, I'll say "half ten". If someone asks me for the time at 12:05, I'll say: "five over twelve".
Perfectly simple.

The first one is why we hate the US date listing so much. The rest of the world doesn't know if that means August 10th or November 8th. We basically need to know if it's US or International format to make heads or tails of it.
The rest of the world (afaik) decided to standardize it in written from as DD/MM/YYYY for logical and practical reasons. Leave it to the yanks to cry like obstinate children and refuse to get on with the program, leaving us with mondo confusion.

That's what we do in Dutch as well. "Half ten" means "Halfway to ten o'clock" - in the UK however, that expression means "Half past ten" |
Same in Norway too, but since I'm a Brit -- "half ten" means "half past ten" and it drives my wife INSANE Also, while I do agree that DD/MM/YYYY is the most logical, optimal, method... I also have to apologise profusely to everyone for conquering and owning half the world, thereby forcing people to use that god-awful Imperial system which just confuses the shit outta everyone.
I'm still stuck in Imperial measurements myself (ie; I'm 6ft1inch and weigh 11st, I live 4 miles from the nearest town centre and my average driving speed is 62mph ) and being in Norway, a Metric country as it should be, is confusing as all hell sometimes. So, again, I apologise on behalf of the British Empire for the Imperial system. I'm TRYING to get to grips with the Metric system ... but to hell with Fahrenheit (Imperial) and Kilometres (Metric). It'll always be Celsius/Centigrade and MILES, to me.
