Anyone knows when these supposed GTX 560 revisions will be on the market ? I did a bit og research and many sites say they will be available before christmas but i don't seem to find any exact date.

Reason i want to know is that i'm finally about to upgrade and i'm torn between waiting for this (the card is supposed to match OCed 6950 and be in between the 560 and 570 in performence and go for around 300$) or simply going with a Radeon 6950 2gb and try to unlock it to a 6970 and save a bit of $$$. I wanted to get a GTX 570 but the place where i buy my parts are out of stock/back ordered and those left are all 350 + $ and special editions (IE: Gigabyte GTX 570 Windforce edition). Now the GTX 570 does tempt me but i'm not sure i want to pay that price for a card that will mostly be out of date in ealry 2012 once the new generation of 28nm cards comes out (same goes for 6950 btw but at least i would save around 100$)

Also , what about those micro stuttering issues i keep hearing about crossfire/SLI ? The 6950 would be a nice option for crossfire sincei could get another one later once the performence start to dim down with newer/2012 titles but those stuttering issues scare the shit out of me because i fucking hate stuttering in any shape or form. I never had a crossfire/SLI setup so i'm wondering if it's worth it.

Thanks in advance for any information Cool

Edit : Btw this is mostly an upgrade for BF3 and Skyrim. I play at 1680 x 1050 and don't pplan to upgrade my monitor anytime soon.

No word on a release date for them, but I'd say probably just before Black Friday (late Nov).

Microstuttering will always exist in SLI and CFX as long as they both use AFR as rendering method. That said, it does only occur when you're running into problems with performance. 2x6950 or 2xGTX565 (I refuse to call it GTX 560 Ti 448, fucking shitty confusing name) will sit above 60 FPS in just about any game right now (including BF3 and Crysis), so with VSync you shouldn't get microstuttering. At 1680x1050 SLI/CFX of those cards would be massive overkill though.

After some reflection think i'm just going to bite the bullet and go for the Gigabyte GTX 570 Windforce. I don't feel like waiting for the GTX 565 and i've been a nVidia fanboy for a long time after a bad experience with ATI/AMD so i'll just stay the course. A GTX 570 was my plan A when i first thought about upgrading anyway.

The Windforce has 3 fans so the card probably OC quite nicely and that's a plus i guess. Smile

Anyway thanks for the info !!

I would not get that Windforce model if i were you. It uses reference PCB design, which has very weak VRM (meaning that you cant overclock it safely). You can get for same price card like DirectCU II but its pretty huge. I would recommend this MSI GTX 570 TFIII PE/OC model which i have in SLI, it overclocks like hell (MSI is using binned chips that are chosen with the lowest VID so better overclocking). Also card has awesome cooling (In SLI top card 68c and lower card 65 overclocked). Also it uses custom VRM which is much better than reference.

My cards are going 960 core and 2200mem with the maximum 1.125v in SLI (considering that reference stock clocks are 730/1900 its pretty nice boost Very Happy)! Tho im not using those clocks at 24/7. Using 1.1v and 925/2100 (beats stock GTX 580 SLI with these clocks by couple fps).

GTX 570 is very nice card for its price, at around 850 ish clock its on par with stock GTX 580. Every card tho wont overclock as good, guess i was very lucky. But what i have readed comments, pretty much every TFIII model has overclocked to 900 core with reasonable volts. Highly recommended!

Also lol about that new 448 Ti, should be really called GTX 565 like werelds said Razz. Its GTX 260 all over again Very Happy
