For a week of relaxaton and spending some time with my gf. Any tips on whats to see and do? Im planning on taking a desert safary trip but apart from that I dont know, shopping, swimming etc etc

spoken like a true norwegian. Have you seen dubai? Have you seen some of the amazing stuff they've build?
Also going to many countries in the west is the same for me as a person from the middle east, people looking at me funny and shit.
No I'm really looking forward to experiencing dubai, never hate without experiencing a place for yourself.
I've been to norway a few times, thats why I can say its like a witches clit during winter.

It's Dubai, 110% touristic place. The whole fucking place is build around tourism. It's a great place as I've heard from friends who went there, but be prepared to get screwed economically. Everything is overpriced as I've heard, but worth the trouble if you have the moniez. Don't mind the scare tactics, have fun. As for what to do, it's mostly shopping yes.

I don't hate the place, I hate the faith. Do you not keep up to date with current events? Didn't the fact that two people were JAILED for kissing each other's cheeks seem a bit excessive to you? How about the fact that I suffer from crippling headaches, so I often take codeine to help manage them. Guess what? For carrying codeine with me in Dubai I could be jailed. Wooo!! FUCK YEAH!
You ASKED for tips on what to see and do, we GAVE you tips on what NOT to do; don't fuck with their laws, of which there are many, because you will GET fucked.

amazing place, go to the souk markets for sure and get hussled upstairs to the gold back rooms  you're eyes will drop out.. and so will the wallet
Hell hole to some or not, I lived there for two years and I would go back tomorrow if money allowed lol..

Dubai doesn't really seem like a place worth visiting unless you are rich and can throw money away at doing what that city was built for. Myself, i'd rather go visit somewhere like Vietnam or New Guinea.

Hmm, the stuff in Dubai was built by slave labourers starving in shitty sheds while the rich and famous galabants in the bars and hotels while extremely underpaid malaysians clean cum off sheets. Oh, most of them had their passports confiscated when they arrived in Dubai so they couldn't escape home again.

Dubai - a hell hole?!  I've been there twice and the place is phenomenally gorgeous. Clean, orderly, with some really fantastic vistas. Plus, the people there are really friendly and are nothing even close to the fanatic followers of any religion that is. |
