LOL ,wel i can tell you this IS important for SF3,
for other clones its indeed not important Safedisck ,securom clones ,
but for a SF3 clone, yes its important because the security check is about the density of the disc. its best if you use Sony or Verbatium CD-RW or another good name brand.
i have got this info from verry skilled people they work also on nocd cracks and on an generic SF3 dumper.

ya sorry looked over that
i tried it with the exact same settings on a Liteon Burner but no go either
seems the Dvd Burner dont have the EFM Error option tho
but anyway it aint working so i pretty much assume there are very few lucky people out there who got it to work

Bypass EFM error, and that's not burner-specific.

To those of you who wonder, if it takes more than 3-4 seconds (15%-meter) the disc is faulty. When it works, it never scans the entire disc, just goes straight into the game.

fisk wrote: | Okay, I have now tried this release too (on the same equipment that worked for the other release)
I burned using the instructions provided in the nfo (which is the same Neo provided here) - it burns fine, installs fine, it's when it gets to the CD-KEY check it fails (after about 2 minutes of CD-checking) - with the error: "Disc Key Error", "The Disc Key you entered does not correspond to the disc in the disc drive. Make sure you use the correct Disc Key."
And then asks for a new key.
This occurs when the burnt disc does not match the SF3-encryption check, and means that the disc is faulty (you cannot use the disc).
When I try the disc I burnt from the anon-release, it takes a very short while, and then the game starts.
My conclusion? This release does not work.
I may be wrong, but I doubt it. |
Maybe it's a mistake to try the new disc on an installation that was made with another disc set. Try to uninstall the game and remove all Starforce drivers from your system with sfclean.exe then reinstall the game with the Ragnarok discs. Maybe it will work then. Before you did this you shouldn't say the Ragnarok release doesn't work imho.

Since neither anon or ragnarok has cracked anything, they've made so called "clones" of the CD's. With this fact, in the way that SF3 works, separate installations work, as long as you have a proper disc. For instance the original CD works fine with the anon-install, and so (obviously) does the anon-CD which I burned.
The RagnaroK-disc however failed. Which made me make that conclusion.
I will make a comparison between the RagnaroK and official CD and post the results here as soon as I get home.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

i saw that post
tho i find it hard to believe it will work for this one
even so i think IF somebody manages to crack the protection for Soldiers
or make a nocd
the chances are it could make the ragnarok release work

Ace: The thing is, SF3 encrypts the contents of a CD, not just the executable. The algorithm for this requires the copy to be an exact replica of the original, which is why cracking SF3 is so bloody damn hard. The protection is not just with the main binary file, it's with the very contents of the CD.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

I got us-version soldiers backup(my friend made it for me).
and tested on LG GCE 8401B(I have only CD-RW).
Result?
failed!!! -> disk identification error, invalid cd-key ~_~;;;;
But I think the result might be different If I had a very old cd-r(4x~8x).
But I dont have!!!
