Pandaren has been in warcraft since forever, but what factor made them decide to implement them in WoW is unknown. Could just as easily been Kung fu panda.

They also watched Alien when they decided to add aliens in Starcraft 2.
i wasn't saying that mainly cause there was pandas in the pics... i was saying it because of the area's similarities to the first movie (i didnt see the 2nd). colors and all, not the exact same but very similar.
just seems kindof odd, call it what you will but im gonna go ahead and say they ran outta ideas.
its chinese lore .. kung fu panda didnt invent that either, you know , lol ?
once again, not saying it did. don't read between the lines when theres nothing there to read, ya dig? i'm saying the area is very similar to their little dojo area in the movie. watch it, you'll see what i'm saying. huge staircase leading up to it on that hill in the movie, this just has a bunch of rocks instead of the stairs

The pandaren started as a creation of the Blizzard artist Samwise Didier and an April Fool's joke, but they got a massive response from Warcraft fans. In the first BlizzCast episode launched on Jan. 10, 2008, Samwise recalled the process to the creation of the Pandaren April Fool's page: "But so we put that up in there and everyone was like “Oh my God! A PANDA RACE? That’s kind of cool!” And I’m like “Are you kidding me, really? You want to see pandas in Warcraft III or whatever?”
w/e pathetic troll, come back in the day that you achieve something like that.
Alot dissagree with their methods, but it works, so why blame them?
Hell if you would be on top of that company, you would do EXACTLY the same, not taking a risk and losing a big STEADY income per month.
You may say otherwise, but thats just bullshit.

What is it you guys want them to do ?
The new talent tree looks nice !
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

But with the rising asian market, it makes sense (this trend can be seen in many other online games like LoL, HoN, UO etc.). But I really dislike it, I find shit like ninjas, samurais and martial arts pandas don't mix well with "western" fantasy.
Hm I saw the trailer and I really, really don't think the style matches WoW at all...for example this vid:
That in WoW? Really? Looks like Kung Fu Panda The Game to me =X
As for the zones, I don't know..I've got nothing against the oriental style but again I think freakin Burning Crusade spacehip stuff made more sense in WoW than this.
I cannot buy the yearly pass for my Russian wow acc, so i won't be getting diablo 3 and the beta of this. and iw on't play wow. well, they messed this up themselves.
No, we have no bears on the streets here in Russia.
They don't even bother making videos for the expansions...
Yep its really sad. I was, expecting cinematic trailer for expansion and not this
They have always done it like this... when the expansion is announced, it's just some trailer with in-game graphics and when the release date comes closer, they release the cinematic trailer.
