We were never the kind of pirates the media make us out to be. We're gamers first and foremost. Make games we enjoy, without pissing in our faces with nonsense and dangerous DRM, and we'll buy the games. I buy tons of games all the time, mostly indie titles but yeah; also AAA retail.

Did some pc games suddenly become derp free?

What's going on!?

I buy games that I like. I have all of the UT titles, Diablo2, Rolllercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2. and plenty of others.

If the game is good, then I buy it.

Nothing has changed, Waldo, this has just been a good year for AAA titles. We're still all about the crack and the release and the NZBs Laughing

Most games have become so shit that by the time you find anything you like, you're so surprised and happy and amazed that you buy it.

One thing has changed too: Digital Distribution is now better than ever. And there is a way to get games for good prices (CDKey shops). I bought quite some games too in the last time (well compared to how much I just copied years ago Laughing) like BF3, Minecraft, FIFA12, Deus Ex and so on...

Oh and having a good job isn't a bad thing either Laughing Before that nothing I copied would've made any difference as I just didn't have the money to buy games Smile

That's a damned good point. Yeah, we've all preordered/bought AAA titles this year.. but honestly, how many of us would have done so at Steam-level pricing?

Stop labeling us as "pirates" Waldo!

Pirates do not exist. We're just gamers, true gamers who have the ability to distinguish what is good and what's not, investing money in the best titles available on the market because thanks to our fine tastes and ISO demos we know the truth.

Those who avoid piracy aren't worthy to be called gamers. They're just blind marketing slaves Cool Face

Yeah when I told my boss that I pre ordered Battlefield 3 and Deus Ex he said "Wow I thought you were a usenetter". -_-'

I'm just not so stupid to be spoon fed with ubisoft, ea and activision/blizzard bullshit.

I like to try my games and support the ones that deserve my money. And if I didn't like it -> good, I didn't spend any money it.

But those assholes even want money for unfinished/broken/plain bad games. Sorry, you won't get my money.

not sure, seems more of the same of the last 5 years..just with the usual 'new game smell' that people temporarily get all wet over.

last games I bought that I thought was worth the money was GTA4 and minecraft (minus the hassle of now trying to keep a bukkit server with 30+ plugins playerbase happy)

see minecraft. free alternatives are available Crying or Very sad and we're supporting them. it's like a 20 dollar game... and notch made billions and we're still supporting him now derpifying the game Crying or Very sad

and it's odd... it's like the older the pirate gets, the more responsible the pirate is, and once the lifestyle changes from living with parents to living with girlfriend we begin spending monies on games.

Like now we're loling about iso demos... lol wut like before it was free game \o/ now it's iso demo to see if it's worth the monies.

back off topic: Razz

come join us..I think I ban 1/2 the people that join for being wanna be brotards, or idiots. but we got a good base and its 18+ unless invited by a current member, no fee to join it. it was down for a few months and lost some people but we got about 40 that play on and off. your welcome to join. the rules are a bit strange..since we use towny for protection. Moose plays on the server from time to time when he feels like some MP.

Not joining any communities. minecraft is awesome. one of the best games i've ever played. once i join a community it'll drain every second of my life and i still have a couple games to finish. FFS online minecraft is 1000000x more addictive than WoW. Fuck that!!

thanks, but no thanks... need to keep my time for november. That's when gaming comes alive!! \o/

Sad wallet = not happy.

Well, i have to admit that
a) most of the new games are shit... sequel of a sequel of a sequel
b) most of the games are a huge waste of time when time is limited
c) i preordered the new Zelda game on the Wii
d) i mainly play the old skool games i grew up with... recently installed counterstrike (i payed 9.99 for it...), age of empires II (i payed 3.99 for it), rollercoaster tycoon 2
e) I got loads of money now Very Happy, using the credit card is easier than browsing through TPB, waiting for the download, unpack, see that it contains rickroll videos, redownload, find a crack... blablabla

Excuse me sir, the Zelda games have the same figures, but the games are completely different each time. Plus they keep you busy a whopping 100h! How can you be so wrong ! Mind Is Full Of Fuck

Thou shallt not bash Zelda games!

There is a new Zelda game each 3-4 years, are you comparing this with shit like the sims, the sims2, the sims3, the sims 3 expansion 1, expansion 2, expansion 3. or NHL 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. And asking 50 euros each time, who pays for that!

Speak for yourselves, personally I have not seen one game this year I would consider buying even from the bargain bin. The only one I am going to buy is Skyrim.

I have become much more fussy as I get older, very few games appeal to me anymore.

Actually.. Razz
I usually do buy from Steam. If I know a game is worth it, I can even get my head around the 1 USD = 1 EUR scam.

But Skyrim does? My hopes for that one are even lower than they were for Rage Laughing
