Erm yeah, exactly what Sabin says really. It's stupid easy on things like my Lynnfield or your Sandy Bridges.
Have you got a custom cooler yet? If not: Antec Kuhler 620, H80, Thermaltake Frio, Noctua DH14 - in no particular order. These all perform very similarly to each other. The Noctua fans are quieter at high speeds, but I've got my TT's running at 1300-ish RPM (which is barely audible) and have 0 heat issues; peaks at 70 with Linpack.
As far as the actual overclocking goes, yours is easy, because all you have to (and can) do is up the multiplier. Start with locking RAM speeds, forcing the RAM voltage (1.5v and 1333 or 1600 for XMP). Disable spread spectrum, not sure if you need to up the PLL voltage because you can't fuck with the FSB anyhow.
From there, there's 2 approaches: up the speed until it gets unstable, then up the voltage until it's stable again, and so on.
The other is the one I used: core voltage straight to 1.35, VTT to about 1.3 or so and just crank it up to a specific speed (4.5 should be doable). Check if it's stable, then start lowering core voltage until it's no longer stable. From that point, take that back up 2 steps (as 1 will be borderline stable) and write the value down; do the same for VTT and voila, you found your tresholds for that specific speed
VTT = QPI = IMC = memory controller voltage - has different names in different BIOS's.

I've got the Asus P8Z68-V Pro, but as far as I understand it; it's the same on pretty much all P67+ boards... whack the multiplier up and either let the mainboard deal with auto voltages or set core voltage to 1.2ish, then follow Wereld's advice if you want more than 4.2/4.3.

Have you done any stability tests?

You don't need countless of hours on these tests. 2 hours, for instance, is more than enough. You'll also see the max temperature the CPU reaches on full max load and if it's not, by any chance, throttling.

Oh I only Linpack for about 30-45 minutes, if it can handle that it'll handle any real-world load. I'm not obsessed with doing these crazy runs and you all know my opinion on stupid bullshit like RAM benchmarking, 3DMark and other useless synthetic bullshit.
I've been overclocking ever since I found the DIP switches for bus speed on my 486-DX4's motherboard (<3) so I'm pretty confident when it comes to overclocking. That was also the only CPU I ever fried; nowadays you can't even fry them unless you really intentionally fuck up

Well, I'm only suggesting that because gaming isn't the best metewand when it comes down to testing CPU overclock. I have a friend with that same processor and overclock (only the multiplier was upped), and it kept BSODing him in Starcraft 2 after only 2-3 minutes of gameplay as well as on some 3-4-year-old games that utilized only a single core.

LinX AVX is best stability test for Sandy Bridge. Maximum stress with 20 runs is enough to see if its stable. Service Pack 1 needs to be installed on Windows 7 to get AVX instructions working in linx.
@ garus
The watercooling units has preapplied paste on em. Tho i used my noctua paste.

Check your motherboard layout as well, the Frio is pretty fucking big, it blocks the fourth DIMM slot on mine so make sure you don't need that

Talking about coolers, didnt see you mention the Mugen 2.
Is that one actually still good, or did i waste my money?
