Hi guys.
I have 4yo western Digital 500gb hdd.
20system
350games
100apps/movies
partitions

first off. 20gb is a little not much for windows7... I would like give it at least 30gb..

and merge 350 and 100 partitions.

Other than that. Defragmentation isnt helping. Its loud as hell. Any tips?

Changing partition sizes without losing data is possible till a certain degree.

It has to be from a<->b<->c<->d and so on, you cant do from a<->c<->f
Plus the partition where you are taking it from has to have that as free space ofc.

As for the loud noise, only 1 tip: get an SSD or live with it Razz

I think you can use partition magic, but you're gonna have to blow away data on at least one of those partitions even with that. Although I haven't really dealt with merging partitions much lately so I might be wrong.

Your best bet is just to get a new drive...if it's 4 years old and loud its not going to get any quieter. My WD was annoying the hell out of me and I simply had to get rid of it because of the noise.

I got a 120, but I could deal with a 60...none of the games I've tried really make a difference on or off SSD, and apps dont take up all that much space.
