Yay, Sabin likes it! I'm still annoyed by some weird things, but other than that I find the game really nice. I have to see if I can use my gamepad somehow.

I hadn't even bothered with the keyb/mouse, I just instantly picked up my PS3 controller (MIJ 360 emulated, of course) as it's just one of those games that plays better with a controller. Yeah, there's a few niggly issues (half the hits don't even connect, it's like watching a bad play at the theatre ) but the game itself is a LOT of fun.. and despite how disjointed the beginning of the story was, I'm enjoying the plot and voice acting too.
and for those who stuck at the avoid death part,
the arrows are ok (wasd) you just have to wait a sec for the white ring around the arrow will narrow for the inside circle and only then press the key
I thought I was the sick one because I found the voice acting quite good when most found it really bad. Good to see that's not the case.
Naw, definitely not the only one.. I really like it, it's well performed on all parts and fits the style of the game. The only thing the game lacks, so far at least, is some polish.

It's just like the QTEs for games like Lost Odyssey
Interesting game and seems to have a interesting story aswell. Only thing i don't really like is the feel of the combat. Feels so clumsy. Might just have gotten too used to derp games, but that's how the world is today.
The combat definitely takes some getting used to (I refer you to my polish comment) but I LIKE the brutality of it! Nothing more satisfying than parrying a blow, following up with a flurry of backhand face-crunches with a mace, then stabbing the full length of a sword into the skull of some peasant
This is definitely a sleeper hit for me, I never expected to get this much enjoyment out of it .. and I enjoy it FAR more than that earlier "The First Templar" rubbish.
I got my gamepad working. Apparently you can't change the buttons on the gamepad so that's why I was confused before. Good thing that my gamepad has a mapping function. The camera is so much better with the gamepad, I really can't understand how they messed it up like that on mouse.

To be fair, I finished The First Templar because of the VA and story. I expect the same to happen with this game as well.
But its really amazing that they managed to create different animations for the different weapon styles... TFT was an exercise in repetition in that regard.

I really liked that game, quite a good time-waster, but it definately felt cheap.
Edit: Oh man, the soundtrack in this game is just awesome!

Game is pretty legit. The combat system is better than any hack n slasher thats come out in a long time. Not much trouble with combos on my end with PS3 controller + motionjoy...
A little piece-of-shitty game and an average time waster. And I have no problem managing the game with the usual mouse+keyboard duo as well.
RAGE is a big pile of shit, there I said it.
Spoiler:
Oh, and I don't have problems playing with m&k, but the game is much better with a gamepad.
Awesome! Also, apparently they left a debug menu in the game .
Just press ESC to bring up the menu and then press F1 to bring up the debug menu. There's a hide hud option there, some LOD, filters and shadows settings. There are also a bunch of post-processing effects, but they don't seem to work if I turn them off/on. If there's something else interesting in that debug menu, please, do tell.

Started working with this game, Dark Rohirrim (LOTR?) seems to have found the debug menu already but there are a lot of interesting things to tweak in the config files provided.
C:\Games\CursedCrusade\Common\Settings
And
C:\Games\CursedCrusade\Common\Tuning
Possibly also the following location but I've not yet checked that.
C:\Games\CursedCrusade\Win32\
For example the tuning folder contains the base settings (Including AF which is commented out at 16x and instead set to 2x - there is no AF settings in-game) LOD, AI and much more.
In-game there's also settings that might be why people have issues with mouse+kb as there's a option under input for playing with a keyboard which defaults to false.
(Now I assume people actually check the option menus and all that but just in case someone accidentally missed it I thought I should mention this.)
Still testing different stuff, there's a lot of config files.
EDIT: Interesting game thus far, will be interesting to see what they do with the story and these various encounters, seems kinda like Devil May Cry or what best to compare it to but I like it so far.
(Knights of the temple? Conan?)
(Also seems to be a Steam title judging by the files in the game directory, strange that it was obtainable unless it's a direct SIM/SID disc rip and if so I wonder what the release day patch will do to the game, certainly the debug menu is not meant to be there but how "flawed" is the game itself without this update?)
There's a circle within a circle or how to describe this, think of it as a archery target dummy.
In the middle is a arrow symbol (Well so far.) much like -> or <- or well you get the idea.
Observe these circles carefully (I missed at the first time otherwise the above would have been 30 hits instead of 28. ) and you'll see a small white outline shrinking towards said button symbol, once this matches the inner circle the target will flash quickly and this is when you press the key.
TL:DR, it's the average (EDIT: timed.) QTE but it can be hard to see how it works initially.

I noticed that, I pressed when the shrinking circle was inside the white, larger circle, but it still did nothing.
I'll try again once I reinstall the game. But I don't think I will understand anything since the voice acting honestly made me want to kill myself.

Are you playing with a controller or mouse and keyboard?
And did you set the input option I mentioned to keyboard control if that's what you are using?
(And to a lesser degree, if you are using a gamepad does this game properly support gamepads other than the official X360 windows pad?)
(EDIT: Or PS3 pad.)
EDIT:

So there's that as well, maybe another thing that the (assumed.) release day patch will correct?
(This being a Steam title and thus packed a while ago - not entirely dissimilar to other retail discs though - with the latest changes being added upon instal to Steam as the game is - nearly always - updated.)
