You don't want 6790. It only has a higher memory bandwidth and power consumption over 5770, but the rest is pretty much the same. If you want an upgrade you want at least 6870.

I have a similar setup to yours, (5770, i5, 4gigs) and I max 95% of games out there at 1440x900 (no AA). So the question is do YOU need a new grfx card? Is there a game out there that is not working for you as you would expect?

You'll notice some improvement, but honestly, why the slow card? Razz
A 6870 is about 30 EUR more expensive over here, but is quite a bit faster still.

What resolution are you aiming for?

Nerrd: I just want something new for the future.

Werelds: I can get to 1920x1080 in deus ex 2 but it can be choppy sometimes with AA on etc. so really I want games to be stable at 1920x1080 with AA on and all other options.

Let me make this much easier for you.
http://www.hwcompare.com/6025/radeon-hd-5770-vs-radeon-hd-6870/

Look at the difference in performance, then the price you can get it for, then your wallet and you will know the answer =)
