It worked 2 days ago for one night. I managed to register then. The next day the site wasn't working anymore and it's still the same since then. Tried with 4 different browsers, tried clearing the cache, tried removing the cookies, nothing.

DarkRohirrim maybe try a proxy or VPN - they might have blocked your IP or a range it falls within.

The last IP I get is at 12. At 13 it times out. Is it safe to post that IP here or can you tell me what to do with it or something?

yeah it's safe post the ips here... just leave out the first couple 2-3 ones...

last one for me is 65.98.60.2
you could try to force the DNS name to 65.98.60.2 via your hosts-file...

Well since you never reach 65.98.60.2 which is the target there's no point in posting them here. There's a problem in the connection between your router and the server that is hosting steamgifts.com

You should call your ISP and explain steamgifts is unreachable and you have confirmed that through running "tracert steamgifts.com"

I don't use a router. I might try that some day, if I can be arsed to do that. For now, I used a proxy and it works. I wonder, is there any problem with doing that?

Switching servers. We'll be back soon!
Important: If you manually set our server IP in your host file, it'll need to be cleared.

That's what the site says when I try to enter if I have the cookies for that site removed.

Can someone please explain the idea of this site? Can you share any steamworks key or do game have to be bought from Steam's store only?

And when you are sharing/giving away that specific key then what?

you can create a giveaway for any steamworks-game as well as any game that is on steam.
once the giveaway is over you'll be able to see the e-mail of the winner so you can send the key / gift to that e-mail.
you should ignor any friend-requests you get via steam around the time your giveaway ends though ^^

Code:
Will I get in trouble using this? / Is this against Steam's TOS?

As of now, we have yet to hear of a single issue with the 1,000 gifts given away from the community. If any concerns were to arise, we would be more than happy to reach out to Valve, and do our best to address these issues, helping them understand the winners have no connections with the users providing the games. Overall, we're simply helping people find a way to share their extra copies, and SteamGifts is not setup to dodge country restrictions or pricing in anyway. Hopefully in the future we'll be able to get game publishers or even Valve involved.

Yea, read this one, but I wanted to be 101% sure. They can claim anything, but there's always a catch. Either way, good to hear it's clean. Thanks guys.

every time someone puts up a giveaway everyone on the site gets 5% of the value in points...
you spend your points by entering giveaways - each giveaway costs as much as the game costs on steam in $... so a $20 game is 20 points.

escalibur - basically you get points given for free regularly every day and you use them up entering raffles for Steam gifts donated by other members. All the info is already in this thread and in the FAQ on the site.
