A lot of maxtors do work, it has to be a 3.5" of course but the main thing is to ensure thatthe distance between the IDE and Momex is correct. As the Momex and IDE on the PS2 are fixed.

Yeah that would work fine.
I have a 300gb in mine. I think the max is 400gb.
HDA says it's 200gb at the most, but it goes higher.

I have hdloader on my Memcard, hd advance was hdloader with a bigger toc so it would work to backup bigger games with swap magic or what not trick. Zima wanted more cash of what he did not do.Hdloader was owned by DMS, not sure if they still own the rights to it. no clue whats new in the 2.0

No Steve, if you have a hard drive in I'm afraid you can't connect it to the hub.
I've got HDA 2.1, it actually says 2.0 on the box.
I got mine from here:
http://www.hdadvanceuk.com/hdadvanceuk/default.asp
I paid for it, but as far as I know, it can be copied.

Hub? What is the "hub"? A network hub? There is FTP software that you can run on the Ps2 and transfer the files from your pc to the HDD in your Ps2.

Fraid not. The Ethernet adaptor is used by the hdd. To get the files onto the drive you have to remove the drive and put it into the pc.

Check out http://wank3rs.maxconsole.com/ to transfer to your hdd
FAPlink is a client/server utility that allows a user to send standard ISO backup images of PlayStation 2
games to the PS2 HDD via the Fast Arm Protocol to be used with HDloader and/or HD Advance. This is much
like Winhiip but instead of having to move one's HDD from PS2 to PC one can just use this program and
an ethernet LAN to send directly to one's PS2.
