Finished game in just under 20 hours doing as many side quests as I could find. Loved it and I wasn't even a big fan of the original (gameplay wise; i liked the story and setting). Last boss was stupid, didnt know to keep shooting the glass so I was running around like an idiot trying to figure out what i missed.
How have you done that ? Playing on "very very very very very easy" mode ? ^^"
Played for one hour and I'm still in the first hangar at the very beginning of the game
I played on medium. Steam says about 20 hours. I might have missed some side quests (though I did all that I found) but they were fairly boring anyway, and I wasn't into exploring too much of the cities. Unless the locked door had a security level of 4 or over I didn't bother to be honest.. i stealthed when I could.. except towards teh last hour or so of the game
Anyways, 20 hours is plenty for this type of game, and its quality over quantity anyways.
Going for Pacifist/Foxiest as I messed it up in my first playthrough. For added fun I'm doing a no-aug run (or, at least, no augs other than what you begin the game with.) and also being truly pacifist by not even knocking anyone out.
I got the foxiest hound achievement, but not the Paficist (I did knocking out). Guess I must have killed someone accidentally. OR killing someone for fun and realoading then doesn't count or it's the dam sewers bug I've read on Steam forums.
Oh wait. Maybe it's because gas grenade is lethal? I always thought it has sort of sleep-effect How fucking stupid I am
Spoiler:
Also, about saving Malik - I did it non-lethal only. It took me around 8 tries, but I did it. On DE difficulty ofc.
If you kill people in the prologue it still counts as a kill.
Don't use the self defense system augs since it kills enemies, and if i'm not mistaking using turrets still counts as a kill.
I have a problem with the game.I was playing the game using ALI's crack and while i was playing the electricity went down and after that the game doesn't read my saves.C:\Users\admin\Documents\ALI213 has all the save, but the game doesn't read them. Can i somehow fix this?
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
If you guys have the punching through the wall aug, be careful to not use it when somebody is behind the wall, cause it will kill em. I had to reload an ealier save and had to replay everything from just before derelict row-_-
Yeah, I learned that the hard way I'm not playing 100% stealth though. I go for the killings in the missions involving the mercenaries and their army. Nevertheless, I've got several ghost and smooth operator bonus already, they really pump up your mission score.
Hell, I've even been taking advantage of those "portable" sentries for the lulz:

Finally started dxhr, playing on hardest and doing stealth approach + knocking out every single enemy without raising alert -> way too easy so far (not that far, M10 + all side quests done from the first area).
AI is fucking horrible...
I think you understand stealthy wrong, try splinter cell instead
With 'stealth' I mean getting the ghost award at the end of the level. And why waste good experience points by not knocking them down.
For added challenge Also one could argue that they can hear you when you knock them down. Also, you're breaking their arms in some of the non-lethal take downs, for crying out loud, that's Hulk Hogan's stealth!

Yeah, that's one thing that never stoped bugging me. Two guards standing not that far from each other and the second one simply does not hear all the punching and grunting a few feet from him as I take down the first guy (they do from a certain distance but it's only a few feet before it's safe). The "from the back" takedowns should have been more silent. The stanglehold is ok I guess (still too much noise with all the tapping and moaning), but there are tonns of other ways to make a KO silent. A knock to the head, some mini-tazer aug, hell, with all the medical advancements, I would even accept a freaking vulcan nerve-pinch.
Well it seems talking to Darrow at the end is a one way street. No matter what you choose, he will hand you the code.
Tried it twice:
-Your DNA doesn't let you have augmentations
-OMG You're right, look here is the code!
2nd attempt:
Come on darrow, please
-You're right jansen, here is the code!
And whats up with Jansen? You lied to me! You lied to me! come on, this is life, everyone lies about everything, yet he talks about "lie" like he is the first to experience it.

Actually on my playthru I pissed him off and he said he'll never gave me the code, i decided to knock him out for pissing ME off

Perhaps, just like with Sarif this is a plot-progressing conversation. Winning only gets you an achievement. They could have forced you to at least knock him out or hack his PC to get it if you fail.

Not as hard as this:
Spoiler:
Sandoval. I was fed up with his bullshit but whatever I chose he didn't shoot himself! It took about four to five tries until I found the correct combination of options. 3-3-3 converstaion options and you have to get everything right if you want that coward to kill himself!
I think the spoiler was revealing that the event occured in the first place, not many tries it took. I certainly would have considered it one if I hadn't reached that point yet.
Anyway, just finished my second playthrough. ~8 hours for the no aug/no harm speed run. Still didn't manage the Doctorate achievement. Can't be fucked with it now. 48/49 will have to do!
In case anyone considers the 10.000 credits you get from the preorder DLC a cheat and wants to get rid of them, there's an easy solution:
1. download Cheat Engine from here and install it. Pay attention during install since it wants to install voice recognition software and a toolbar, make sure you say no to those options.
2. Launch Deus Ex, load a savegame and haul your ass to a merchant, then alt-tab to desktop and run Cheat Engine.
3. Click on the leftmost button with the computer and magnifying glass and choose the "dxhr.exe" process from the list and click "open".
4. Make sure the search options are set up as such: Scan Type: Exact value, Value Type: 4 bytes. Then input the amount of money you have in the game into the search box and press the "First Scan" button. It should find several addresses.
5. Go into the game and buy something or pick up a credit chip to change the amount of money you have. Then just input the new value into Cheat Engine and click the "Next Scan" button and it should find an address with your money value.
6. Double click it on the list so it'll add it to the bottom panel, then change the value according to your wishes and click the square under the "Active" tab. Go back in-game, your amount money should be changed. Save the game, alt-tab back to Cheat Engine, close it and you're done.
still a fuss about the moneys? i havent installed the game yet, but couldnt you just spend it all on stuff, and then drop it? doesnt the game have a drop function?
LOL! Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is a first. Using Cheat Engine to REDUCE how much money you have Hell, I'm just as surprised it's an exact/4byte location as well - I thought developers were getting wise to cheaters and started using floating locations to fool scanners.
I gotta admit I found it amusing as well, but it's a solution to the problem - no more temptations of the extra money for me.
I hope they release the SDK, praxis points and stores should be more expensive. You have way too many Praxis points by the end of the game, even though they claimed you shouldn't be able to max out all the augs, you can get very close to that.
