..or +5 because other senses has instead been heightened.

The characters (proportions) are still their weak point imo, but it's a lot better than Oblivion, some looks even really great which hasnt been the case before lol. The human females are quite ugly still..

Well that would be a new trick, a blind hero, how would he differentiate the monsters from the maidens, he'd probably hump the monsters and kill the maidens by mistake.

Well I forgot it's set in Skyrim and how the location actually is. Smile
(Though the Dunmer/Dark Elves are what I'm more familiar with seeing how Jiub the first NPC you meet in Morrowind has this large scar over his left eye, then again the more improved character generation process likely means all ten races can have their own personal appearance without looking too much like the other characters.)

EDIT: Battlespire characters weren't bad though, not as diverse as Arena or Daggerfall however but quite detailed and with this hand-painted appearance, however I only found this humorous GIF image f the male Nord or what it was again.

EDIT: Tiny high-elf female image.

You're kinda pushing it here, that's like saying a dickless guy is a better lover because he's more sensitive.

“There are three main stats: magicka, health, stamina. In Oblivion you have 8 attributes and 21 skills. Now it’s 3 attributes and 18 skills and."

evolution of 'rpg', next series there will probably be 0 attributes Rolling Eyes

Which are all derived attributes and shouldn't even count - fact is, with Skyrim Bethesda has removed ALL base attributes from the game. Just so the little derps and derpettes wouldn't have to deal with big scary numbers.

Because you've confused RPG with game mechanics

A roleplaying game doesn't actually need those kinds of things. We use them as mechanics to keep track of things and create rewards, but a genuine roleplaying game really doesn't need them. An actual RPG is about playing a role and making choices in that world. With a DM making decisions based on what you actually do, the game mechanics become unimportant. Its why we can have RPGs like Amber, which are diceless, the next step would be to remove the attributes. It's much like interactive story telling.

It's why I cringe every time I see some game claim to have "RPG elements" what they're really saying is that they've included a sword, or the character has the ability to choose a skill. These are just game mechanics and don't really have anything to do with an RPG. An RPG Would allow you to make choices that have lasting impacts on the world itself, and deciding if you use a sword or axe isn't one of those choices.

While I certainly enjoy the common game mechanics of many RPGs, they are mechanics and not the game style/genre itself.

I'm not defending bethesda here, frankly I not really a big fan of them, just pointing out that the attribute-less RPG is more than possible

Yeah right, try getting a group together to play some DnD and then saying "I don't believe in attributes. Attributes aren't RPG enough for me, so I'm removing them" -- see how long your friends keep talking to you Razz The notion of removing attributes from RPGs is laughable at best, IMO.

Ah well, at least we know now why Derp Effect 2 won "RPG of the Century OMG OMG OMG!" awards; because it has "storiez lolz" and "decishunz!!" Sad

280 perks is still nice (FO3 had like 60-70 or so i think)... i like attributes though, but hardly a game breaker, i'm pretty sure they know what they're doing to keep it interesting.

Haha, of course if we're talking realism the loss of a eye and if it affects depth perception would be quite a disadvantage, this was mostly a crude joke. Smile
(As another crude joke I'd not go as far as removing the limb entirely but circumcision would no doubt affect sensitivity. Razz )

(Crude as it is the first attempt at getting google to spell the word properly so I could write it ended with a rather sick fetish porn site, eww. - http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&ei=GOxVTo_6FYfKsga7yPSJCw&ved=0CD4QvgUoAA&q=circumcicion&nfpr=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=1757f0b1e7f04f65&biw=1507&bih=868 )

Exactly, just look at Call of Duty, it doesn't have any of this nonsense.

Incase anyone wants an overview of what have they removed/added to the series

http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1224022-all-the-stuff-they-added-and-all-the-stuff-they-removed/

I guess theres no restoration(auto reg gen... ) and fortify spells.

I remember creating spells to fortify speed and jumping ability, that was quite entertaining.
Well I'm still hoping that through construction set, I can bring back some fun to the game Smile

Fortunately it should be one of the simplest things to mod out, you'll see one released within hours of the game's release I'd wager.
