DarkRohirrim. He was the one who was most looking forward to this... I wonder what his opinion is now that gameplay footage has been released.

Guys, the devs specifically stated the game is an old school shooter such as painkiller, serious sam, etc.., and that's pretty much what the footage represents imho. Sure it would be fantastic if it were a deeper rpg game such as DE but that just was never their goal. I think the game looks pretty cool and if it's as fun as painkiller then i'm sold. The blade runner atmosphere is just too sweet to pass up.

Yeah, I'm here, I'm still looking forward to this. My only complaint about that gameplay footage would be that there seem to be too few enemies, but that video does look more like a demo to show the people the mechanics of the game so I hope that will change in the final game and if not at least later on in the game. The story trailer isn't bad actually, a nice presentation to show what the game is about. It could have been better though.

DAT MENU, DAT UI, DAT WEAPONS SYSTEM!!!
Seriously, I love it. What I noticed the is the lack of music, which I hope it just wasn't in that demo or something as shooters like this need awesome music, at least in battles. It doesn't need to have that metal-ish music like Painkiller for example. It needs something that fits the theme, something like in Deus Ex, but more hardcore to fit the game's genre. The number of enemies doesn't seem so bad in this video actually, it surely is growing as you progress in the game. Other than that, I don't think there's anything that would be a problem for me. If there will be a retail edition I'll probably even buy it, but after I'll try the isodemo, just to be sure.

I do love some songs from The Prodigy, even though I don't really listen to them anymore. I also love the soundtracks of the first 2 Quake games so I do love NiN. If they chose to do something like that, those that make the music should add a cyberpunk flavour to the music.

I think it looks empty and kinda ready to be ported to console. The environments look good but are like a slideshow unrelated to the game. This does look like a pre-release though. I might leech it.

Another preview. |
Quote: | One downside of these morphing weapons is that it can be difficult to tell which mode the gun is currently using. Switching modes only causes subtle changes to the weapon's appearance, such as the tip changing from one barrel tip to two or another part growing larger or smaller. Once you get used to the weapons, it becomes less of an issue, but even by the end of the preview build, we were wishing for some other means to know what mode the guns were in. With some enemies or situations more appropriate for one weapon type than another, proper weapon selection can be quite important. |
I could have sworn in the gameplay vid posted above that the weapon mode is shown on the hud, don't know why this guy had an issue with it.

I'm wondering the same thing. It was shown on the HUD and it was quite visible, while not cluttering the screen.

I won't be buying it in digital version. If there will be a boxed version, I'll probably buy it, but now I'm out of money anyway because they're going on Deus Ex.

It's digital only. They don't seem to want to deal with a publisher, and can you blame them?

I usually have very few money and I don't like digital versions (I mean I don't like paying for them) so I won't be buying this for sure. But if they'll make a boxed version at some point in the future I'll buy it if I don't have other games to buy at that point and if I have enough money of course. That's why the "probably". I have a lot of other games that I'll like to add to my collection, which is very small at this point and just because a game is new it doesn't mean it has higher priority on my "buy for the collection" list or whatever you want to call it.

I wish they'd hurry the hell up and put it on Steam preorder already. I hate having money burning a hole in my account.... just put it up so I can spend and forget about it already.
