Super-sized PC action RPG sequel Torchlight 2 is too big to fit on Xbox Live Arcade and will need to be "comprehensively redesigned" if it's ever to see a console release, developer Runic Games has revealed.
CEO Max Schaefer told Eurogamer that it had only just managed to squeeze the original game below Microsoft's file size limit. As it stands, the significantly more ambitious sequel is not even close.
Whereas the first game had just one just small town and a few dungeons, the sequel has vast outdoor areas, multiple hub cities, different terrain types and, crucially, co-operative multiplayer.

Finally, Schaefer offered a quick update on the status of the planned Torchlight MMO. Sounds like it's a long way off.
"That's obviously still in the plan. But is it the next thing or is it something beyond that? We just don't know. We have a lot of good ideas for the MMO, we just aren't committing to any kind of schedule yet. If Torchlight 2 blows up on PC and it's the biggest thing since sliced bread we'll probably want to give more attention to that before heading into the MMO world."

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Good. The less they focus on MMOs, the more they can focus on crafting the standalone titles. Torchlight 1 was sublime.. and from what I've seen; Torchlight 2 looks set to better T1 in every possible way.
Shut up Lightning!! Why do you want to mod D3 anyway??? You think YOU know better than Blizzard?!?! You don't need anything else other than what Blizzard have already put in the game!! You just want to cheat online!!!!

Forget cheating, i just wanna play SP offline by myself and i can't even do that. FFFUUUU Blizz.
Well, for me, the choice is clear; I'm Day1 purchasing Grim Dawn and Torchlight 2. I'm not purchased Diablo 3. I *might* get it when Blizzard remove the "always on!" and "no modding!" restrictions ... and when it's in a bargain bin somewhere for €10. But not before.
It was from TotalBiscuit and at around 5:30 some awesome metal song started from nowhere. TB was trolling his fans . Anyway, I think that's why he deleted it, it's probably going to be reuploaded again + the other 2 parts as that was just part 1 of the interview.
Sorry guys, we screwed up pretty bad on the Torchlight encode and left a piece of music in. I've removed it and I am reencoding. We can't upload it from this hotel, internet too bad, so I will release 2 Torchlight vids on Sunday when I get back from Gamescom. I'm sorry

After watching gameplay the only thing which is bothering me that NPC's are too slow and too weak. The game should be challenging in every step so it would keep u busy all the time - thinking about new strategies of winning certain fights and so on. So far what i did see is that NPC's either doing almost nothing in the middle of the fight, or doing it too slow, or gets killed by single hit...I wouldn't want to kill enemies by single swing of the sword, slicing and dicing every monster ingame without dying But maybe it is about difficulty level? And every video was shown... it was a "newbie" level?

Then you'll never buy it But I bet you'll cave in after hearing how awesome it is from ppl who played it

I think the demo they were showing at Gamescom was the same one they used at E3 and that time they said the characters played were leveled up and geared with super powerful items so the game seemed much easier than it will really be. They also have said that it will be a much harder game than the first one, it still has difficulty settings and a hardcore mode so those who want challenge can have the game that way.
Plus there are rumors of an "elite"-mode for characters that have beaten the game but that might be just the possibility of upping the difficulty setting when you start the game again with the same character.
With regards to the difficulty, it'll stay the same I reckon:
- Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard
- Optional Hardcore mode where death is permanent
- D2-like "Hell" difficulty after beating it once
The art style is meh. If diablo 3 is too cartonish then how you call art style of T2?
I personally am one of the few who doesn't see what's wrong with D3's style. It just looks like a game made in this century, what did all the whiners expect? Complete lack of lighting like D2?
It also gets compared to WoW a lot, but obviously those people have never really played WoW, because that has far more hippie colouring than D3 does.
Same here. Of all the things I dislike (or don't care about..) in D3; the art style isn't one of them. To me; it looks quite good. Definitely not toon-esque like WoW or WC1-3. It's more inline with Titan Quest and/or Silverfall.
I like the art style of D3 and I like the art of Torchlight 2 as well. To be honest, if the art style the devs use look good and work for the game they have created, then that's fine by me. I loved Torchlight and one of the things I liked (other than the low system reqs), was the colorful art style and cartoony graphics. D3 looks a bit more "realistic" and has a lot of blood and gore. It will be a solid, polished and awesome hack and slash, I have no doubt about it. I'm also looking really forward to T2 as well. Considering the 1st one was a single town with dungeons, as well as single player only, I still got about 35 hours of gameplay for $5. It's really hard to beat that.
But about art style, to me it's very game dependent. I expect a game like Battlefield 3 to look realistic and have a certain visual appeal. But hack and slash RPG's, I don't look for this, nor do I prefer it. I just want the gameplay to be fun make me want to play. This is pretty much true with all games. I can adjust to a certain art style if I like the game. I can't adjust to a game with amazing graphics that plays like shit though.
