I really don't understand the bashing against Apple.
I'm using PC as well as Apple and i definitely find OSX to be much more polished, aesthetic and a faster operating system than is Windows 7. Maybe it's just my opinion, but will you bash me just for it suiting my needs better? I read the whole 31 pages here, and it's pathetic how Sabin at the beginning said Apple's userbase are mentally challenged while latterly he just said Apple products are crap (contradicting himself so many times).
And iNatan is the most pathetic one, seriously. Read the thread from start - he didn't own his iPhone 4 back then and just bashed and "trollfaced" everyone supporting Apple. And now on other threads he praises his Apple phone. Is this the most pathetic contradiction, or what? He still tries to "troll" Apple, but he likes its products. He just tries to "blend" to this so-called NFOhump PC Master Race (ironically said).
People, please, if you HAVEN'T used an Apple product - dont't comment. Don't just bash and troll. It shows your unintelligence and small-mindedness. Thank you.
Oh, and name me ONE phone on the market with IPS display other than the iPhone 4? Just, you know, people like to bash how Apple products are so much more exspensive. It's because Apple uses more expensive components, too. There was some tech site dismantling an iPhone and some HTC high-end product. And guess what, Apple had more screws, better materials, was better sealed, etc. It's a great phone with great OS.

And again: Apple makes 1 (!) phone a year, they don't desperately bring a new model out every fucking week just like HTC and Nokia does. They can focus all their energy and resources on working on their next best phone.

I have also somewhat praised the OS (from my experience with Hacintosh) years before I bought the iPhone. The trolling and bashing is the thick users and their retarded willing to pay the high prices Apple asks.
But if you are ready to pay twice the price for half the hardware, then you are indeed a retard. OS X, the OS, can be installed on any modern desktop or laptop PC. But hurr durr, you have to read a tutorial and dig a little in forums, it's so hard, you'd rather just throw the cash for mediocre hardware and let your brain's few neurons left die out. Likewise for the iPhone, I paid 1/4 of asking price - and it is worth that price. It is not worth the full price.

I use everything. Mac, PC, whatever. Hardware snobbism will lead me nowhere. Should I really want to play computer games I'd simply put together a gaming PC. Still cheaper than an iMac, uglier probably too, but it works. Playing Skyrim and shit, I guess that's worth it

You actually believe what you're saying? Perhaps, indeed, Apple makes trendy and niche products, but that's the same segment asking for higher price. I named the good quality of Apple products as the reason for higher price, but definitely there's a good marketing and the niche segment where Apple products belong for the second reason for a higher price. They are high-end products, and please don't bring some clock speeds and similar shit here - they are high-end products nevertheless.
The exact same thing can be said about auto industry; the 1-series BMW is so much more pricy than some Volkswagen Golf/Jetta. Does it make those people buying the BMW a retards? BMW is a premium brand, and it just costs more, much to its better quality materials and a more expensive brand.
It's the very nature or Capitalism and especially free market.

I haven't bought NOT one iPhone without messing around with competitors' high-end phones. I don't like Android, it's just too clumsy for my aesthetic personality. It doesn't have a framework.
Your comparison of luxury cars and Apple products is false. There is nothing luxurious or "high-end" in Apple products. I have been working on a MacBook Pro for two weeks now, and there is nothing "premium" about them - just the logo and brand. Very luxurious.
So the hardware out of the picture, we are left with the software. I will say that at first sight, it does look good. But I will say this also: In two weeks I have managed to achieve a kernel panic twice, and once the preferences went apeshit and had to fiddle with the so called "single user" mode, which is basically a Darwin Unix CLI. I have not had a single BSOD on Windows in years, even when fiddling with the DDK. The OS X and Darwin are quite unstable indeed, but this is highly overlooked because of the target demographic.
So to answer your question, yes, if one buys a rebranded Golf marketed and priced as a Gallardo, then yes, he is a retard.
I've yet to have a kernel panic with my Snow Leopard. And i haven't had any BSOD with my Windows 7 machine, too.
Both are good operating systems (win7 made a great leap since winxp), but OSX 10.6 is still better to me. Haven't had a chance to play with the Lion.
I'm trying to shed some light from an average consumer's sight. I don't know so-very-much about the technical sides of computer hardware and software. And that's actually the key point i'm trying to make: for an average person Apple products are very suitable. It doesn't matter if your phone's CPU is 1 GHz while HTC flagship might have a 1,2 GHz - it doesn't matter for the average user.
Computer world should be more pleasant and framework-controlled. This Open Source initiative thingy Google is trying to push through just doesn't work out i'm afraid on the long run. Linux is older than Windows, still it's at the same usage share it was 10 years ago.
I'm sorry "Your majesty", but what exactly is better about Apple's materials? I mean, their last 3 generations of MBP's and first generation MBA all had trouble with overheating, the PowerBook G4 and G5 had massive engineering design failures at the hinges and optical drives, IBM and Dell still use better panels in their screens..need I go on?
I'm not saying they suck, I'm just saying they have just as many bad points as any other manufacturers. And no Macbook gets anywhere close to a Thinkpad's build quality, yet they're cheaper with superior hardware inside.
Your BMW to VW comparison has no ground, because the BMW actually does add something besides aesthetics. It's more comfortable, has better gadgets inside (better sound system, alarms etc.), it drives better.
Same goes for the iPhone. I've never said it sucks, nor have I said iOS sucks. If someone prefers it over other phones, fine. But they're not *better* than other phones or operating systems. That glorious IPS panel of yours in the iPhone 4? Also has worse black levels, contrast and colour accuracy than just about any other display out there. WebOS and Android are years ahead of iOS with multitasking and I personally prefer Android's way of managing settings for example.
Again the same for OS X. It does many things right, but it also does many things wrong. It's a fine OS, but most definitely not better or worse than Win 7 or Ubuntu for example.
Just as an aside, Win 7 is just as snappy as OS X and has been proven to be - in some tasks OS X is more efficient (most notably web browsing), in others Win 7 is more efficient. In terms of battery drain that is.
For every pro you can find for either side, you can find a con as well. iDevices aside, their desktops and laptops are not worth the premium just for the design, as they suffer from plenty of build flaws (just like any other desktop/laptop), yet they are heavily inferior in terms of specs. I don't mind their products, I think they're quite good and I would consider an MBP if it wasn't so much slower than equally priced laptops.

As a small example from my experience, the graphics drivers are very bad on OS X. This affects mostly gaming, but also trivial things as video decoding. Attempt watching a 1080p high profile video. Hardware acceleration of high profile is nowhere to be heard of in OS X.
This is a technical forum, so we do like to get deep into the OS. And when going deep, there are more flaws than benefits. Pretty fonts (debatable) and nice animations are only nice for so far, but they cannot mask the deeper shortcomings of the OS.
I'm not going to use a virtual computer to run Apple software. I want to press the power button and see Lion pop up automatically. Preferably on an anodized aluminium unibody computer. So I buy a separate Mac for comfort and have a Windows computer stored somewhere else in a drawer should I want to go back to nerd stuff
