I'm looking for movies similar to I, Robot or Minority Report, or even Source Code.

Tech-noir or cyberpunk suggestions are welcome as well. Thank you in advance.

Please no Blade Runner as I've seen it just last night.

Cypher was ok from what I remember, I watched it about 5 years ago once so it may be crap, but it seemed ok at the time, I remember the ending being naff though

Deja-Vu is ok, nowt special but ok.

I have to check these out, I already saw the other ones.

Thank you a lot for the recommends.

Shall I mention that searching for Akira on RO trackers is a pain in the ass? There's nothing but porn featuring Asa Akira or what's-her-face coming up Laughing

Akira is kind of overrated, imo. Lovely artwork / colors though. I've tried watching A Scanner Darkly at least 3 times by now, after 30-40 minutes in i usually fall asleep or just feel so bored that i decide to do something else. Gonna try watching it again the next time i get my hands on some decent meth Very Happy

Dark City
A.I
Serial Experiments: Lain
Ergo Proxy

Gunhed, Hardware... those are quite old though, not sure i'd appreciate them today.

If you like Ghost in the Shell you should definitely check out 'GitS 2 - Innocence' too (I just LOVE the soundtrack in this one).

The 'GitS Solid State Society' movie is also worth it.

Also, check out 'Vexille' if you like Appleseed. Similar visual style and from the same creators.

I don't know if this fits what you're looking for, but 'Avalon' might also be worth checking out.

Already saw Vexille.

Point is, I've watched most of the classics and am now looking for other, obscure, possibly good pieces of tech-thrillers.

Much like Johnny Mnemonic, Surrogates gets a bad rap ... and, much like Johnny Mnemonic, it's bullshit. Surrogates is great =)

..... in fact, once I finish this ep of Torchwood, I'm going to watch Surrogates again!

+1 on ghost in the shell and it's sequel
solid state society is based on the tv show instead of the movie universe
but the entire tv series is well worth seeing
whole two seasons of it (a few crappy episodes in it to skip)

there was also a tv show based on total recall, which was essentially a merger of total recall and blade runner universes into a fun low budget cyberpunk cop show

i recently saw and really liked hardware (aka. mark 13)
the story is nonexistent and it's very eighties and cheesy but i really loved it for it's authentic cyberpunk aesthetics and self assembling killer robot thingie

People didn't like Lawnmower Man for ONE THING , its named after a Stephen King short story, the stories are virtually unrelated it was a trick to nick people to see it. That's why many people hated it. They bought a ticket to see a Horror movie, about a satyr who works for the Greek god Pan that completely nude kills people in a form of ritual sacrifice with his lawnmower and to cover his tracks he eats up the cut grass ...but NO you get scammed into a sci-fi movie

Rolling Eyes

It was a good movie, the first to use VR and 3D animation... but still people where pissed that the whole ad campaign made it looked like it was based on Kings story.

Equilibrium is a hidden gem, not sure many people have seen it Smile or they did simply because of Christian Bale, you go to imdb and look at some of the movies he did.
