I struggle for new music these days. Other than the bands I already listen to and their new releases I can't find stuff that compares.

those genres of "music" that give me an urge to remove my ears every time I inadvertently listen to them.

How many times have I posted already that music is not what is being sung by a human voice, but rather what is being conveyed instrumentally through an association of musical instruments!

That's exactly why I can never consider this music, if you listen to this, if you remove the singing component, you end up with a boring sample that bores you after 10 seconds!

EDIT: o sorry forgot to change accounts

there are a tonne of great artists these days that match the quality of sound of the "greats" from the era of your choosing.

it's just lol how jaded a lot of 'music fans' are. it's disgusting sometimes too.

This is true Razz, metal is a 'highlander' genre that suffers the least from the usual mainstreaminization and lack of originality (except for some fagcore bands Cool Face), because -hopefully- it's still rather niche, especially in non-Scandinavian countries (PC Master Race)

I can't say the same thing about classic rock and mainstream music, which have seen a huge decline in the last 10-15 years Razz (personal opinion!)

Anyway these times are quite good for indie music fans, there are many original and (like hipsters would say Laughing) 'underground' groups that experiment with different genres/sounds, and are generally quite good. (not a big fan though)

Got any in mind I can check out?

I wasn't referring to all music. There is the odd one these days I find that I find amazing like the band I just found called Red Sparrows....they're completely instrumental and they do some amazing shit.

well it all depends what you're into.

To be frank I would never, ever, ever put journey, rush, eagles in the same category as pink floyd.

I'm a fan of doors, floyd, al green, temptations, bill withers, clash, cream, bowie, etc etc etc.

journey and rush... echo and the bunnymen.

floyd. check out the new albums by roger waters. (amused to death is epic)

there is a lot out there. i can't really refer you to some music. Since you put rush, journey, scorpions, eagles and floyd together. it's hard.

lol I didn't mean in the same category..they're just my more favorite bands. I generally love all those old classics. Journey just puts so much energy into their music you can't help but just dance around the floor like a fucking idiot lol

I know what you mean SpykeZ, but there's still plenty of good music these days, and I'm not a metal fan like most seem to be on the hump Smile

There are a lot of shit ones these days, but enough that still know how to make good music - and do it live just as good as on a CD. Just don't listen to the radio. And every now and then I come across a little gem, like this girl:
Looking forward to her album, this and her cover of "Heartless" sold me already. She makes this song sound better, and she makes Heartless just sound good (I fucking hate the original).

Funny you should mention Eagles though, I in fact went to see Eagles 2 years ago Razz
They're fucking fantastic live and their current tour (Final Farewell 1) has an intro to Hotel California that still gives me chills every time I hear it: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x851ft_the-eagles-hotel-california-live-in_news

Wish I was old enough to have seen this live though: - such a waste Sad

One of the rare few bands that sound every bit as awesome live as they do in the studio. Queen are truly fantastic <3
