haha thx but I'm still noob
btw:
Quote: | The new issue of Games Master awards Deus Ex a massive 94% score, calling the new entry "an incredible piece of game-making; it's the revival Deus Ex always deserved."
The mag concludes by calling the Square Enix shooter "a once-in-a-generation kind of game, and the first game in a decade to do everything the original Deus Ex did, and to do almost all of it better." | (I don't know if the mag is derp though )

The higher the praise from review sites, the lower my expectations. Funny how that goes these days.

Reviews don't matter one bit as we've already played the game, and found out that it is absolutely amazing.

@Divvy: you still have a lot of time to try the "demo" and remove all the doubts about the quality of the game

Ive just ordered myself another 5850 card to put in CF, games are running good still with my single setup but I dont fancy shelling out loads on a single card solution and as these are going cheap these days, they will put me in to the (games run awesome again) level so I'm happy..
Will be good enough to play a lot of the upcoming titles at least....
What you guys running generally?
i5 -3570k
8GB DDR 3
Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Gaming G1
32GB of terrible skill @ FPS games.

I'll just trust you folks then. NFOhump forums are rarely wrong. I won't try the "demo", no spoilage for me.

If anyone cares, there's a review in a Turkish mag. Usually reliable, the guy reviewing is reliable too. Very brief summary: classic Deus Ex feel with a lot of small detail (enough reading material close to PS:T level), nice and relatively deep combat, difficult, interesting and fairly deep story and much much better than DE2. Cons: small technical fuck ups, some crashes, facial models of NPCs makes no sense sometimes in dialogue (though he does say facial animations are top-notch when you have to "read" faces), NPC model variety is small. Score is 94% (which is very high for this mag).

So the cons are the same as in the leak, no problem for me.
What idea for HR looked amazing on paper, but simply did not work in the game? and what was it that didn't work?
Quote: | “But there are so many!
Some dialogs were supposed to feature objects hidden in the background that you could find and analyze in order to unlock blackmail attacks that you could use to convince people to give you stuff. Unfortunately, you had to do this while the character was talking to you, so you had to concentrate on 2 things at once, which meant nobody was listening to what characters had to say.
The hacking was also supposed to be much more complicated than it is right now. Before accessing a device, you had to scan it for active ports. Some ports were slower but less protected, so you had to choose the best one for what you were attempting (whether you wanted to control or download something). Then you had to assign CPU cycles to various attack and defense programs while the system was trying to trace you. Anyway, we had it working in Excel and did three revisions before it was canned for the current node-centric system. People just didn’t get it.” |
Damn, the hacking sounds really a lot more complicated!
Would the stealth system differ from the previous games, and if so, how?
Quote: | Yes it does.
Our main complaint with DX1’s stealth was the lack of feedback. We personally found it hard to know when we were hidden and when we weren’t. To the point of frustration sometimes. (yeah yeah, I’m criticizing DX1. But bear with me…)
That’s why we decided to go with a detection system based on line-of-sight, rather than light and shadows. To us it felt easier to read, especially when combined with a cover system.
We read on the forums that some people felt we were dumbing down and consolizing the game.
Our perspective was that we were actually empowering players, by giving them better information and better tools to use stealth.
You be the judge.” |

I actually do agree with the stealth. Stealth, without camo aug/armour, in DX1 is a PITA - you never know when the enemy has seen you or not.

Agreed, stealth in DX1 was indeed based on 'trial&error'; the "new" detection system inspired by MGS is a good addition which doesn't dumb the game down but makes it more entertaining

T-minus 4 second before some fool jumps in and whines that hacking was "derpified" - although I will admit the sound of the system was interesting, but they might have gone overboard. Having to choose a "port" (whatever the fuck that means) BEFORE you saw the inside layout of the minigame might have added some spice to it, but as is the hacking in game is still interesting - if somewhat less "strategic".
