We've just tested it and it lasted 2 hours while playing a short avi file via windows media player continuously.
Battery profile used was the asus default, this netbook is a brand new ASUS 1005PX.

The thing is, while my friend is pretty happy with it, IMO it should be able to last a bit more like 2h30 - 3h, no?
What do you guys think?

1. update bios
2. update motherboard, cpu and power management etc drivers
3. set all unnecessary functions down (display brightness, bluetooth, wlan, hd spin, cpu throttling)
4. i'm guessing it came with the smallest possible battery option, so buy bigger battery

i have a eeepc 901 (intel atom) from right when it was released and i get slightly over 4 hours on it, doing whatever (as long as it's not a game or other properly cpu intensive)

btw, have you calibrated the battery? (fully charged, and then let it run completely dry)
if it's not calibrated, it's only guessing what the capacity is and it might underestimate it
