I am thinking of upgrading my RAM. I have RAMBUS RDRAM PC800 512MB and would like to upgrade it to 1GB. I would like to know if the brand names make a difference or are they all the same.

Most brands of RAM are of good quality. The main difference between brand and OEM (brandless) RAM is the content of the SPD, a tiny chip which contains the values for the latencies. OEM manufacturers are famous for writing incorrect values to the SPD , which will result in random system crashes, failures to boot and BSODs
I've always used cheapass TwinMOS modules, and those never gave me any trouble Some brands, like Kingston, offer lifetime warranty.

I always go for the best! Such as Corsair or OCZ. They are expensive they but offer a service unmatched by other makers.
A friend of mine fried one of his corsair sticks and posted the problem in their forum, they gave him an adress in California and he sent it there. Two weeks later a fedex guy knocked on his door with a brand new stick and a letter of appology for the inconvineance. Thats service for ya;-)
