Yeah
So basically i have 250$ left on my upgrade budget and i wonder if i should either :
- Get an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
or
- Get a GTX 580 over a GTX 570
Processor is an i5 2500k with 8 gigs of ram and a corsair HX 750W power supply. My monitor is 1680 x 1050 so i tend to lean toward the SSD since GTX 570 can handle most games @ max settings at that resolution but on the other hand i keep thinking about the future and how a GTX 580 would leave me enough room to max future games with 8x AA , AF ect. I'm upgrading mostly in prevision for BF3 and Elder Scroll 5 btw.
So what would you guys do ?

Either SSD or wait for the new ATI series which should be out in ~3 months ( new nV series will only make their debut in Q1 2012 ).

Vertex 3 is shit, to many user complain about probs. Either get a real SSD from Intel or a Crucial m4 or get next GFX generation.

It's not just the Vertex 3, it's all drives using the Sandforce 22xx controller, from Corsair, OCZ to Intel. The solution is to stick with an earlier firmware (2.06) since it seems like it's a timing issue with the sandforce-controller.

WTF man. gtx570->580 is not next gen.
The 580 is not worth the extra money for that less extra performance.

SSD over a marginal upgrade any time, but like Frant says, be careful with the Firmware, SandForce seem to have made a slight "woopsie" somewhere. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon enough though, they did it with the V2's as well
A 580 at least definitely isn't worth it over a 570, never has been, never will be. Especially at your low resolution, that's a complete waste of money.
