I'm not discussing taste, I'm discussing musical technicality, something that hip hop clearly does not have!
You can have technically elaborate music in all kinds of genres. Mainstream Hip-Hop may not be one of them, but there is not only mainstream Hip-Hop just as Metallica is not the only metal band around.
I do not listen to Hip Hop myself (so I am not an expert on the matter) but I have a few friends who do, and none of them would ever touch mainstream Hip-Hop even if their life depended on it.
Different people have different tastes and thats that.
In an interview with Complex, Lil’ B was asked what “based” meant.
“Based means being yourself. Not being scared of what people think about you. Not being afraid to do what you wanna do. Being positive. When I was younger, based was a negative term that meant like dopehead, or basehead. People used to make fun of me. They was like, ‘You’re based.’ They’d use it as a negative. And what I did was turn that negative into a positive. I started embracing it like, ‘Yeah, I’m based.’ I made it mine. I embedded it in my head. Based is positive.”
Thank you Based God
freiwald, reading eNglaish posts is almost as sickening as listening to Ronhrins rants, I welcome you to be the first person on my ignore list simply for their inability to type English properly.
Oh come on, not everyone here was born in an English speaking country.
His usage of slang like u and constant typos and other errors come from his lack of motivation to type properly. If you dont feel motivated to make your posts that much more readable, I dont feel motivated to read them. This isnt instant messaging, this is a forum.

i was suprised that he is exactly the same like he is online and in his musicvideos.
somehow it was unreal to me. all this postive energy.
well he came 2 hours too late. we took the time to get "ready".
concert was finished about 12:00 am, thank god there was another club right next to cassiopeia. we were dancing till 6 am. ah i love berlin and the club scene
what a nice evening and next morning ... atleast i had some sleep last night
I dont get this guy.. is he serious? or just plain retarded? some people at least seem to think its all an act to show how retarded the music industry is oooor?
either way hes a faggot and theres a video of him getting his ass kicked on YT
what the hell is that he does..
its not talented, its not good by any definition of the term, its not even music.
its a "be good in life, and love everyone" message..delivered in a very poor form of spoken word set to a simplistic drumbeat
if this passes for music now, I'm glad I wont be alive in 50 years...
by that time some guy pushing one key on a Casio keyboard for a kick drum, and some guy randomly talking nearby will be 'music'.
wait..that's what passes for music now it seems..DAMNIT.
is it a form of self expression, yes. its it a form of art? yes.
is it 'talented artistic music" no
Just because you want to convey a positive message, and enlighten people with it..doesn't mean that when you haphazardly speak it over a Casio drumbeat, and seem to ignore the rhythm and BPM it has inherent to the beat..doesn't mean that the 'music' itself is good because of the content or lack of in the message is seen in a positive light.
if that WOULD be the case..we could say Gandhi was a hell of a rapper, because his message was a positive one, despite his apparent lack of any vocal, rhythm or singing skills. or Jesus..the true OG. by using that logic
HipHop is the only 'music' genre where the context of the words of the song, have more importance to its musical merit, than the delivery of those words in a musical form.
Case in point, someone replying "No he is a great hiphop artist and rapper, you even listen to his lyrics? you need to listen to his message, not the song to see how great a musician he is"
"yes I have, and you are wrong..hes IS a man with a positive message to get out,I will give you that. but still a horrible horrible rapper."
Can I point out to someone "no man you got to listen to the passion hes putting into trying to play those notes on the guitar, not how well he plays them..to truly see how great a musician he is"
By that case, Gettysburg address was one hell of a rap song. Sure it had no beat, didn't rhyme, or have any structure....but it was a good message with passion behind the meaning. and therefor despite the total lack of its content or quality musically, it was a epic rap song based on the context of the message, not its delivery...
