Well, obviously he's good at something. I just don't buy it that this image was airbrushed. The shots of airplanes/birds all "look" airbrushed. Whereas his "this is not a photo" looks just like photos.
Perhaps this is more convincing (different artist)?
These aren't paintbrushed though, they're made in Photoshop (probably with a drawing pad) but the result is quite convincing.
