I loved Dopus on the Amiga, but on the PC I use Total Commander (which I've used since the 90'ies when it was called WinCommander). I bought Total Commander years ago and it's the simple most used app I've ever had.

I’m now hearing there’s a different timetable for Windows 8. I’ve received new information from a trusted source that Microsoft is actually on track to release to manufacturing all Windows 8 versions by April 2012.
I’ve also heard from my contact that Microsoft’s game plan is to deliver a beta build– not a pre-beta or preview — of Windows 8 around the time of the Build conference in mid-September. This allegedly will be the one and only Windows 8 beta, my contact said. In January 2012 or thereabouts, Microsoft will deliver a final Release Candidate (RC) test build of Windows 8, my source said. (I’m now thinking that January release is the one that leaked a while back from Dell.) And the next and final milestone after RC will be RTM.

As promised, we dug some more information regarding the upcoming Windows 8 feature which will allow users to play Xbox 360 games on their PC’s.
According to our sources, Xbox 360 on PC will have a subscription fee (just like Xbox Live). However, when it comes to online gaming, it will use Windows Live Marketplace and as a result, PC owners will not be able to compete against console owners (at least in initial stage), due to plausible frustrations (mouse vs. controller).
Why would Microsoft do that?
Since software giant plans to launch Xbox 720 (not the real name) in few years, Xbox 360 game sales on PC will not only give company additional revenue but will also extend current generation hardware lifespan.

They said the same when Vista was build , that it will enable 360 games to be compatible with PC architecture , that DX10 could emulate the architecture of logic process of code that was "coded specifically for xbox360 hardware" to be compatible with PC
but later after 1,5 year it was proven as bogus rumor, that some one, some where heard and twisted some information about : dx10 emulating direct-x 9c core and other direct-x.
This Dx9c emulation information was so twisted they though it was Xbox360 DX9c Emulation enabling 360 games to be played on PC... and well Microsoft Games For Life with cross platform game play [specially a game called ShadowRun FPS remake] added fuel to that nonsense
it was like :
Derpy: hey i herd dx10 can emulate dx9c
Derpa: WOOOOOOT
Derpy: yeah emulation of dx9c
Derpa: xbox 360 is dx9c
Derpy: OMG they will emulate xbox 360 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW we need to tweet this
