so i installed windows 7 next to windows XP.
just to find out how horrible the 2d image quality is, the fonts are fuzzy/blurry and it gives my a fuckin headache.
yea i checked all the settings, they're all good.
so now I can play games with amazin dx11 graphix  but I cant have a decent 2d image quality that doesnt burn my eyes out....

1. Click the start button (Microsoft Logo bottom left of screen)
2. Type into the search box: appearance
3. Click on the link that appears near the top ---> Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows
4. Uncheck Smooth edges of screen fonts
Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.

both don't really help, that cleartype is just a gimmick :/
when I look at the thicker fonts on nfohump they seem kinda smeared out...

doh!
i had to restart firefox for the smooth edges effect to work, now its better 
stupid useless graphical effects.... :/

ok, when I turn it off it looks more crisp for me, for example the small font on this website:

hmm it seems turning of smooth edges also turns off cleartype....

Running out of ink? You mean a clogged printhead perhaps. The fonts on Windows have too sharp edges for me, too much contrast. Looks kind of shoddy like the whole shebang could fall apart. OK that's sort of an overstatement but you know what I mean . Apple's typography in the browser looks more stable and balanced to me.
I know, it's a gay designer kind of thing
