|
 |
Just got this mail from my usenet provider:
Quote: |

I dont really understand dutch and google translate gives rather ambiguous results.
Anyways, they also gave me 5 invitation codes and 5 username/password combinations for 10gb testaccounts that seem to work.
Now, the email seems to say that I get certain benefits if I give those codes to somebody who then actually subscribes for a paid account.
So, is anybody planning to? I guess not, you only want to leech your ass off and then hit the road...
Whatever, I don't really have a use for them because I have no friends so message me and do what you want with it. Keeping them for myself would be a waste.
But first, I'd like to understand what exactly this is about.
I do know there are many dutchies here and rofl_mao got the same provider and probably the same mail as me.
Enlighten me please.
PS: I'm also willing to trade for a google+ invitation.

For each person that signs up with one of those codes, both you and them get 6 days/month of free access. If all 5 sign up with a code, that means you get 30 days free (which they just turn into a month for 31-day months), and each of those 5 people also gets 6 days for themselves.
Each code also comes with a test account that is limited to 10GB total download

For those who don't know TweakNews, it's a pretty good Usenet provider, I used to use them as well. I moved away when my connection went from 50 to 120 mbit; at the time TweakNews only offered up to 20 mbit so I wasn't even saturating the 50 I had, but nowadays they go up to 100

Well cable is still considered copper
(technically though, in my town it's all fiber)
Y U NO SWITCH TO ZIGGO ROFL_MAO?!
We were with @Home about a decade ago and it was aweful in every way back then - customer support didn't even exist. But ever since we got back with them (I think it's 4 years now, not sure) it's been perfect, only twice did it actually completely die for more than 30 minutes. And ever since they became Ziggo, they've been working insanely hard to get the speeds up :/
From 16Mbit to 120 in 16 months = win. |
Yep, Ziggo is (compared to the other major cable company, UPC) awesome.
My contract is 120mbit, i download with 15mb/s, what more can i ask for
Had 1 month downtime in 7 months now, other then that its stable.
Just wish their usenet server would be better

Because there ain't no fancy high speed cable where I live Some cable subscriptions are available but the speed is roughly the same as Tweakdsl. 50Mb/s is available technically... only if you're stupid enough to pay €800 a year
Plus Tweaknews is included for free with Tweakdsl. About 600 days retention and 20Mb/s speed... works for me. The one downside is you have to pay for 2 years in advance if you want a really low price a month. Meh

Where the fuck do you live then?
I mean, I *literally* live as far south as it gets, right on the border and even we get Ziggo's cable
Combined with Astraweb (they're up to 1000 days retention or so now ) I'm pretty satisfied. I've also finally found some use for the 10 Mbit upload, as I've been running the TS3 server for our humpin..err gaming sessions, and so far I haven't heard anyone complain about lag yet so
Granted, KPN dickheads still refuse to upgrade their infrastructure around here, so even if I wanted to go back to DSL, I'd be back on 8 Mbit for the rest of my life.

Hmmm i have telfort atm because i had ziggo when i got bankrupt. Seems im still on their blacklist
Anyway... recently i was connected for a year and i called them again. Got a new modem and new subscription what saved me 8 euro a month and upgraded speed.
It seems they automaticly extend your contracts but when you call in you can get your new 1 year offers... guess its the same at ziggo.
Edit: I currently use Eweka with 2 more friends the same account. Is this also possible with tweaknews?

Ziggo works on monthly payments, no contract. You can end at every month you want it to end on.
You pay at the start of the month the money for that current month, rather then after the month.

Telfort are cocksuckers, a friend of mine in Amsterdam had them for 2 years.
He had the 20mbit contract, he only got 8mbit for 2 years.
He even payed for 20mbit.
I made a couple of calls for him and telfort claimed that Amsterdam didnt had ADSL2 centrales (if thats the correct word) in the neighborhoods.
Then he decided to cancel his contract and move on to UPC 25mbit, and SUDDENLY he had 20mbit from telfort in the last 2 weeks...
Telfort is just full of bullshit and trying to bullshit people with slower connections.

Never had any problems on this side... i now have 25MBPS while i pay for 20 so i'm content
I think its the same with every provider... they all have negative stories. I heard the same shit over UPC, ZIGGO etc

Well i worked a while for UPC, and they are quite shit when it comes to customer support.
Ziggo was 2 floors above me, but i only heard good stories about them. Ziggo was really shit in the beginning indeed, but they redeemed themselves.
