Quote:
The story centers around a family with three boys in the 1950s. The eldest son witnesses the loss of innocence.

Cast :
Brad Pitt - Mr. O'Brian
Sean Penn - Adult Jack
Jessica Chastain - Mrs. O'Brien

Directed and Written by : Terrence Mallick
Original Music by : Alexandre Desplat
Cinematography by : Emmanuel Lubezki

Trailer

Even tho the whisperd voice-over has become a cliche in Malick's movies the film looks awesome as expected.

Do want!

I hope the plan is still to release this in IMAX. Most of the film was shot in 65mm so it would look phenomenal!

Maybe he's really good with literature and just sucks at making movies.
Remember the talented writer Frank Miller who went off to make the movie "The Spirit" Vomit

Yes, but you forget that The Spirit was based by a comic book by someone else, not Miller. He just adapted it to movie script.
Here, this idiot is director and writer of his shit. And anyone who spends enough time with literature would at least pick some themes to imitate. But Boll's scripts are so incohesive, you have to wonder if he has even read a book or two in his life. Laughing

hearing from several reviews that the tree of life is artsy/ no plot/ boring / just nice visuals , i certainly understand Boll's POV.

At least Uwe has some balls and dare to speak his mind. Seems like an honest guy, i just don't like his movies (except for Postal ofcourse which was really great).

I expect this to be over pretentious and therefore coming off rather lame, but yeah probably very nice visuals. Would probably have loved 10 years ago when i didnt mind over pretentious movies as much Very Happy

I have to agree with Boll about Lars Von Trier. He's an attention-whore of the very worst sort - and people are clapping all his way to the bank.

I have an even lower opinion of Bay movies than he does, as they're not just vomit-inducing in their over-patriotism - but their pure stupidity and excess. I tend to blame the audience more than Bay, though, as he certainly doesn't hide what he's about.

The Boll movies I've seen have been utter crap, but that's irrelevant.

I don't think that Malick is pretentious, i'm more inclined to think that he sees that going to a movie is like going to a gallery to watch art, not entertainment i can totally understand his view, like i said, not pretentious, and he uses cinema purely as art that's telling a story, visually, the less said the more open to interpretation it remains.
As for Boll, it's either speaking his mind or just saying shit for the atention, and remembering about the bullshit made up Boll vs Bay fight, i'm more inclined to think he's just a hypocritical clown as usual.
