They had that nice system which required a password everytime you logged from a diff computer, the pass was sent via your email .
How did this happen ?
File a ticket to them, they helped my friend get his acc back .

yeah i filed a ticket.
i dont even get it. dont these sorts of things send you an email to confirm changes rather than just 'accept' then, then tell you about it later?
i just got three emails.. one told me password changed, one told me that my secret question thing changed, and one told me that my email address had changed. sigh.

Also, regarding this password thing, I have a little story here .
I used to have a very old Yahoo Messenger id, one day i decided to change my password, I always had the Remember password box ticked .
The next day i forgot the password but i was not aware of that until I reinstalled my OS and fuck if I know what pass I entered, typed over 9k possibilities, none worked .
I tried to reset it, but when i created my id I entered the birthday thing random, I dont really care about those things .
So yeah I lost my yahoo id 4 years ago, I emailed Yahoo in an attempt to fix things out, they called me an impostor 
And now I am asking, is there A chance to get back that id IF i dont know the brithday thing and got no additional email ?
I guess no ,.

when i get my account back, im going to change the email address to a forwarding one, and see what additional steam security measures i can set up... never looked into it before...
ive never bought games through valve so im not worried about cc details or whatever, or any purchases being made, but im changing my passwords on all my main things just to be safe.
also changed my isp password.
going to run a complete virus/trojan scan tonight.
i think i know what caused this. universal karma. got an email from my isp today saying they were raising my monthly data limit by 50%.

I had it tried once by some dutch teen asswipe..thankfully I found their support to be quite effective, hope you do too!
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

k well i guess all my items are still there.. dont realy pay that much attention to what i have, but some of the hats i remembered having are still there.
but my huntsman is most definately still there, and thats all i care about, so yay.
email address changed and a much more complex password is now being used, address is now verified and that steam guard thing is now active, so i should be pretty good.

I dont understand why ppl hijack steam accounts for example.
its one thing to see if you can do it, but to fuck someone over seems petty and childish.
So you cause someone a lot of problems and hassle, whats the point in that?
I guess thats why they call those ppl (usually teens) script kiddies or black hats (if they have skill).
White Hat I dont mind. They dont fuck anything up.

Why even be bothered that much? Just open up a ticket, explain everything and you're good. Ofc it's bad when something like this happens but there is no need for panicking.

You really should have done that in the first place. Steamguard is a very nice feature and I was very pleased when Valve added it.

yeah but i was never even aware of it... i only have tf2 and cs:s on steam, so i dont spend very much time poking around through the settings.
