Nope. 699MB patch and they still couldn't fix the fucking armour/weapon textures

Started playing this seriously now after having finished some other titles and with the patch available.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1951448

That there fixes the texture overlay issue (blue/white basic texture.) by disabling the effect for the enchanted varieties of equipment thus bypassing the bug and in the process (As both good and bad depending on implementation.) armor and weapons will no longer emit particles and glow.
(Strange bug though as some items work just fine with these like leather and the cloth equipment but on others it's really hit and miss up until chainmail - where the hell did plate armor go anyway - and of course weapons are highly varied also with some working and some not with no real distinction or pattern behind it.)

Oh and after further searching the "save game" option is partly useless, it will save character data but not progress which is auto saved after every completed main quest section.
(And you can only have on quest at a time so you'll miss many sidequests if you don't do those in between.)

Well it solves one of the flaws of the game but there's quite a few other problems but they're focusing on X-Box 360 LIVE and PSN Network editions firstly from how I understood it based on discussions in another topic on those forums but hopefully we'll see another patch or two though the game tanked pretty heavily with really bad scores and user opinions so we'll see what they do.
(Game was heavily rushed and some of the gameplay mechanics are a bit questionable and that's not really something that can be easily patched.)

Not that it's going to be likely for most people... but! If you buy D&D-Daggerdale from Impulse (*spit*) before 1st of July, they'll give you Baldur's Gate Complete for free. BGC isn't as "complete" as the name implies though, in reality it's only Baldur's Gate and the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion.

Still, not bad considering Daggerdale is only £10 on Impulse.

It's more like Baldurs Gate 1 complete than Baldurs Gate (series) complete then I guess. Razz
(Baldurs Gate collection or what the entire box set was called again.)

Then again it's (Baldurs Gate and other Infinity engine titles.) on GoG for like 5$ or such. Smile

i played this out of boredom off and on for about 2 hours having finished the fantastic 'portal 2' and 'witcher 2' this weekend. boredom can make one do stuff one regrets later in life. Sad

of course, i picked the female elf. this game has one of the ugliest models to grace a game in recent memories. the clothes animates well although i'm not sure if aided by physics or not. the colors and environment are dull and lackluster. Crying or Very sad

you know it's a feces quality game when you see 'help & options' and max resolution of 1920x1200. it's 2011 for crying out loud devs! where is my 2560x1600?! Mad

xb360 pad support with onscreen button hints is a plus. although, you get the occasional onscreen doubles like two 'back' on top of each other. like making love to male much, dev? they probably have 'broke back mountain' on blu ray. Rolling Eyes

no spoken voices so you end up reading/skipping through the conversation cause you just don't care enough about the 'story.' this is the cream of the crap here folks. Twisted Evil

The one little issue with the story I had early on is how the hell do normal Goblins overrun a Dwarven controlled mine, considering their elite fighters and "stonesense" and all that. Razz

Well, they have the advantage of being able to appear wherever they want out of thin air. Laughing

Hah yeah the spawning of creatures can be a bit much, thought I cleared out a section after I took those hovels of theirs out but they just keep appearing along with various skeletons and other stuff, must be some greenskin orgy down deeper in the mountain for all these goblins to constantly appear like that.
