The funny thing is, it will probably run the same on a moderately modern PC, because it mostly strains the GPU, while the CPU is strained by the game.

I don't suppose you could make a quick list of the mods you are using to get that effect (or the .ini file settings for the ENB series stuff)?

Hey man, plz share the info, what do you do to enable FXAA with ENB? I know ENB supports AA by increasing the resolution but that makes tha game unplayable. I guess you're using some different method.

The screenshots I posted are from that thread in gta forums as well. I tell you, you can find for all tastes in there. But I agree most of the pics posted there are hideous. One just has to keep searching, but it's tedious, the page count is already in the tens of hundreds.

@ixigia I must admit, I find the console GTA better. It just fits better in the world, while the glowing green AUDI just seems completely out of place.

Hehe, it's not perfect nor extremely realistic but personally I like that vivid contrast and increased saturation..personal tastes  |

Nice! that gp65cj04 is the guy whose config mine is based on, the last two screenshots I posted (with the red sport car) are from him. I'm guessing he now came up with some solution for fxaa? Yondaime, can you please upload that file to some mainstream filehosting site? at least temporarily? I don't feel like creating a new user account just to dowload one file.

ENB is nice but as the two threads show (1.0.4.0 and 1.0.5.0+ versions.) it needs a LOT of work and tuning and no one solution is perfect, I can't question the many improvements like shadows, SSAO, reflections and of course the new FXAA via ENB's shader customization capabilities but on the other hand lighting is very hard to balance without getting white skies or overly bright areas due to how the game engine works and it's weather cycles.
(ENB is a bit too limited with the amount of weather cycles GTA IV has compared to the few settings for it ENB has.)

I spent so much time modding GTA:SA, replaced every car manually, textures, and after a month of modding it ended up crashing after 10 minutes, I modded the game to death  the cars were amazingly detailed, inside and outside.
