LOL....has anyone actually tried multiplayer? I tried playing with a friend again using 2.6 patch with loader posted above and crashed every time - CAMPAIGN, LAST STAND, or any other king of multi.

Using GFWL worked perfectly before... can anyone confirm this?

Damn it....really wanted to play using the latest update. What was the last stable version u could play using the loader? 2.5 perhaps?

EDIT: Last version that is confirmed in multiplayer to work for me is 2.2.2. The other crash on connection between players. Any new rev loader we could try out?

finally got round to trying to play the coop with GFWL keys, and managed to activate it and all, yet in the menu when we are trying to start the game it says 'you must own dawn of war 2 to play the campaign in co-op'. tried it with 2.6 and 2.5 patches, both had the same problem.

has anyone run into this problem and been able to fix it? we are using the razor1911 rls

This update is still missing GameAssets\Data\Movies\relicintro_720p_divx.avi file.
P.S. Also, it is posted in a wrong thread. Rolling Eyes
P.P.S. As always, thanks for the updates! Smile

Hmm so the avi files updated? interesting. Smile

EDIT: Normally I would see the modified date and include it but the logo videos are deleted and thus always re-download when the game updates.
(As to skip that stuff on start-up of the game.)

And that's fixed, quick and rather inelegant though, haha.

As said copy into "GameAssets\Data\Movies\"
(Unsure what would need changing unless I've missed this from way back to the first update or so.)

THQ just pulled a horse armour .. DLC DLC DLC

Quote:
The Dark Angels Pack adds the iconic Space Marine chapter to Warhammer® 40,000®: Dawn of War® II: Retribution™ with eight unique models for the major multiplayer units as well as new color schemes for the others. The Force Commander is replaced by a Dark Angels Company Master complete with winged helmet, the Tactical Marine squad all sport the iconic Dark Angels robes. Additionally, the Scout Squad, Assault Marine Squad and Terminators all receive similar chapter-specific revisions. The Space Marine vehicles also get a visual makeover with this DLC pack, adding custom designs and emblems to differentiate them from the standard vehicles.

Warhammer.40000.Dawn.of.War.II.Retribution.Update.1-SKIDROW
 Spoiler:

And question:

Can we access the original, and previous expansions campaigns with only Retribution, just like with Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, after entering the serials?

Or I would need to have them all, to play them all?

I've only searched for Warhammer, that's why I didn't found the correct thread. Sad

About the other thing: it's a shame. It's a lot of GBs, to play all campaigns. I guess it will remain on the wait list for now.

Thanks for answering. Razz

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-06-14-big-thq-announcement-set-for-gamescom

Quote:
THQ will reveal an unannounced game at Gamescom in Germany in August.

Core games boss Danny Bilson described the announcement as "big" to Eurogamer.

"I promise a big announcement at Gamescom," he said. "It's unannounced, a new announcement."

While Bilson refused to reveal any details on the mystery game, he did offer a clue.

"I can say that crowd, those hundreds of thousands of people, in that space at that time, this one's built to announce at that place. I'll say that. That's my clue."

GamesCom is Europe's and PC Gaming's biggest convention. So it's probable it's a PC title (it's "built to (be) announce(d) at that place" as he says). So it's probable it's by Relic. So it's probable it's DoW III Razz although eurogamer speculates Homeworld 3.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

No, thats not the audience that plays the game now, you will likely see it catering even more to people wanting "a quick fix" than the sequel did.
In much the same way an average Starcraft 2 battle is 9.48 minutes long, and that is hugely popular, THQ will want to cash in on that.

DoW2 is a completely different game than the original, so I don't know if it is fair to even compare them. The original was much more of a classical-type RTS, while this one focused a lot more on micromanaging a smaller set of units to perfection. And don't know about you, but matches in DoW2 hardly end in 9 minutes. Perhaps the initial battles start much earlier, but the entire matches.

But I do fear the shit of SC2 creeping to DoW3... Crying or Very sad

Well you said "catering even more to people wanting "a quick fix" than the sequel did" and I disagree, I think someone who is looking for a quick fix, would get lost among all the micromanagement that has to be done in DoW2.

Anyway, you won't see this in DoW3:
