Intel says yesterday afternoon's explosion at Fab 22 in Arizona injured seven but did not have a "material impact" on production there, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports this morning that the blast occurred in a solvent waste treatment room. Solvents are used to etch layers off silicon wafers to create features on microchips. These caustic substances must be neutralized or disposed of after use.

Intel probably got their hands on ES model of Bulldozer, which leaded to mass explosion at their test bench Very Happy.
