TibSun? RA2? YR?

TibSun is also free (apart from being shit as far as I remember), I wouldn't be surprised if RA2+addon also soon became free.

HOLD YOUR TONGUE, PEON! TIBERIAN SUN WAS EPIC.

... as for TibSun being free, yes it is.. but it was taken from the "First Decade" release and is broken.

Unplayable? For whom? It always ran smooth as butter for myself, my flatmate and my best friend... we played it religiously over LAN. And yes.. you're a peon for calling TibSun "shit"

I'm sure you didn't play it at release, like I did. It was unplayable on very decent PCs (I'm talking about multiplayer with lots of units). Perhaps they patched it, I never bothered trying it again after the initial dissapointment.

Well then you're dead wrong. I played it the day it came out and my PC ran it perfectly, as did others. Don't make assumptions and claim them as fact just because your experience differed.

Are you talking about MP? I edited my post.

Besides, I was mostly playing SC back then, and we all know SC owned TibSun, so there was no reason to play TibSun Smug

Oh yes... now the SC vs C&C trolling begins again, does it? Lose an argument and instead resort to trolling.

No, that's not trolling, that's a perfectly reasonable justification for my opinion. I was impressed by C&C and RA. Then SC came out and everyone was playing it. TibSun was a very hyped game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiberian_sun#Reception) and it simply didn't deliver (in comparisson to how hyped it was). And I stand by my words it was unplayable. You say it run good on lots of PCs? I say it run like shit on lots of PCs I knew. And I have something to back my words. Lots of user reviews mention slowness and slugishness, here for example: http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/command-conquer-tiberian-sun. You can find more on other sites.

You are very quick call others trolls, but that's nothing really knew to me.

Your words only apply to yourself. I'm telling you, flat out and point blank, the game ran absolutely fine for me. Back in 2000 I had a P3-733, 256MB of RAM and a GeForce 2 GTS ... and the game ran perfectly fine. The year before I had the same processor (brand, at least, it was an older 550Mhz model), but an ATi Rage Pro with a Voodoo 1 accelerator. You claim I said "it ran good on lots of PCs" -- well you're a damned liar. I never claimed any such thing. I said, and it's the truth whether your ego can accept it or not, the game ran perfectly fine for myself and at least two other people - when we played it on LAN.

You can pull any links you want, you're not going to magically alter history in your favour. Yes, I am very quick to point out the obvious. This site is absolutely infested with trolls, people who do nothing but deliberately post nonsense in order to illicit a rise -- something you do with alarming frequency. This is a ridiculous conversation that has no resolution, so say whatever you want; I'm no longer taking part in it.

It's you who only has your own words to back you up, I have my words and lots of user review you can easily find on the net.

I said lots, because you mentioned yourself and your friends. Don't pick on words.

I'm not trying to change history, because I HAVE FUCKING EVIDENCE TO BACK MY WORDS, WHILE YOU HAVE NONE.

And someone who has different opinion than you (like the users of Mobygames) must be trolls, right? (rhetorical question)

Go ahead, take your toys and leave.

Fucking 30yo kid.

EDIT:

One more thing. You said you had:

Check the freaking system requirements next time you post such nonsense (about game running fine on YOUR PC).

Code:
System requirements

Pentium 166 MHz, 32 MiB RAM

Dear Mr. ,
back then I had a Pentium II-350 and a Riva TNT (and a Diamond Voodoo 3D card) which was everything but a very decent system. However, I never had any trouble with the game, SP or MP. Maybe certain systems had trouble just like today with some games while others ran the game fine, e.g. certain games that didn't run on AMD cards.

Bwhahaha, sorry... tell a lie, it wasn't until 2001 (when I started work at my new job and got my first pay cheque) that I got my P3-733. In 2000 I had my cartridge-socket P3-450 Laughing God I loved that proc.. it just chewed through everything.

My friend had a gaming cafe back then, so I know what I'm talking about. But poor Sabin can't handle the fact someone didn't like his childhood game, so he starts shouting: Trolls! and acts all offended. The game was shit IMO, in comparison to C&C, RA and SC. Deal with it.

I enjoyed both SC and C&C:TS on my 266MHz P-II & ATI Rage Pro 4MB + Voodoo2 12MB. What is it with the useless flaming?

It ran like utter shit for me on MP as well. The lag and sputtering was down right horrible. I think it was more related to their servers and what not than the actual game.

That's more than likely what it was -- and since my friends and I played LAN (as in... three+ comps connected to together locally Very Happy) then we eliminated going through XWIS or any of the other Westwood stuff.

Direct IPX, baby! Tis the only way Very Happy

IF that's the case, in that it was the servers causing the lag, then I wholeheartedly apologise to JanKowalski on the grounds of; I didn't know since I never played "online" - only LAN.
