So, the last couple of years I've been restricted to a Pentium 4 2.8 ghz with 2 GB of RAM and a Geforce 7600 GT.

Finally, I've upgraded to an Intel Core i7-950 with 6 gigs of RAM and a Radeon 5770 with 1 GB of RAM. So I'm looking to play the games that I've missed in the last year or two.

Could you guys recommend some games to play that are essential gaming that I might have missed?

There is the obvious choice but I'm looking for the less then obvious classics mainly that might not have gotten much attention and should be must have gaming.

Thanks in advance. Smile

What's a couple of years? Scratch Head
Would help to know an exact number.
And you missed maybe about 5 decent games. Everything else is is derpified console shovelware which are poorly ported over.

Dragon Age: Origins (I don't recommend Dragon Age 2... but that's just me. Maybe the sequel suits you more).
The Witcher 2
Starcraft 2 (Great SP campaign)
Fallout 3 / New Vegas (better go with New Vegas. It's superior imho)
Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Even though I regret buying it. But since you missed out..)
..

Meh, I need a number of years...

Yeah, rougly 2 maybe three years. I got a suprising number of games to work on that old piece of shit, including Mass Effect 2.

Played DAO and loved it. I'm in the very early stages of DA2 and I'm not liking it nearly as much.

Starcraft 2 actually worked on the old machine fairly well, so I got through that. Might be worth a play through with better visuals again. Having a hard time finding a good ISO on usenet.

Currently playing through the Witcher (original) and Metro 2033. Both seem like interesting games. Not sure what all the buzz is about with the Witcher, it doesn't seem to be that spectacular. I find the interface rather clumsy.

Done quite a bit of play with Fallout New Vegas. Seems good but doesn't quite grab me like the original Fallout 3.

Not sure, I guess RPGs aren't my thing mostly. I'm more into the grand strategy games, like Hearts Of Iron and so on. Doesn't seem to have been much movement in that area. HOI3 is a step WAY backward in terms of playability.

The Witcher to me was aswell pretty shit (it really didnt suck me in, like RPG´s usually do). The Witcher 2 is tho one of the best games i have ever played, its nearly perfect Smile
