I found a laptop the other day which is somewhat better than my old. Now only problem is that the screen doesn't work. I figured no worries I just screw the screen of and hook it up to a monitor with this neat dvi cable. Okay so far so good.
When the laptop turns on it doesn't show me anything on my monitor. After pressing fn+f4 the monitor springs to life. How can i get the external monitor to work immediately after I turn the laptop on?
OS: Windows xp media center edition sp 3 (ye I know).
When I decide to reinstall, will I then be able to switch to my external monitor by pressing fn+f4 even though no OS is installed?
Ok I got it to show me the bios by using the s-video port. Unfortunetly there practically aren't any options about anything in the bios. Are there some sort of secret keyboard combination I have to press to get more options?
It's PhoenixBIOS setup utility vers 1.25
Laptop: Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1536
