Because you don't.

I was referring to their ignorant statements from the past like "you need a $5000 PC to run Crysis". Gametrailers' anti-PC bias is well known.

Really positive review, I think that even some misbelievers have been stunned by this game

Are there any Sapkowski fans here? I am really curious about Vandergrift - what's his story, why is he called the Visitor?

Great review, thanks! That's the only reason I visit GT; their videos and reviews ^_^

Act 2 is even better than Act 1, it's grander. Me likes.

Kevin VanOrd did a great job presenting the game as it is. But the final Gamespot score doesn't seem to match the actual review. One would expect at the end of the review to see a 9.2 or even 9.5 game.

EDIT

They gave it only a 9.0.

... and here's why I usually DON'T read the comments on GT;

Quote:

Why why WHY do I find Final Fantasy 13 better than this in every way... Graphics, story, gameplay... characters... I just find it better... and it is my 5th favorite FF game(and I'm not a big fan of FF games). I played 7 hours of my friends "copy" of this game and I just found it dull... never going to play it again, I'm positive.

Why do you READ GT comments?! Unless you are some grey cells masochistic-sadistic comments reader, you should stay away from those!

Why are you guys so passionate about everyone having to love this game? People are entitled to their own opinion. IMO I find witcher 2 boring at times, mainly because the lack of real exploration. You dont lose yourself in the game world as for instance morrowind where you could completely abandon the mainstory and just do side quests and create your own gaming experience.
Its kinda immersion breaking to see all those ingame cutscenes, especially at the end of act 2.

All this aside, this is a terrific game though. One I really enjoy and sometimes almost dont want to play because I dont want it to end.

Not everyone has to love this game, but when someone compares this game with Final Fantasy it just shows that that person has no clue.

Thats exactly my point. You dont like open world games and thats fine. To me its kinda boring and infentile to bash someone just because you dont agree with them.
Although comparing witcher 2 to a FF game is kinda hard to accept Razz
I respect others opinions as long as they dont disagree with me Laughing

And about Oblivion, its a very shitty game. But I wrote morrowind in my post above. A game far far far superior to the derpified oblivious...

Guys I keep hearing how act 2 changes completely based on decisions in act 1, unfortunately I have very little time to play games so I don't think I'll be able to do a second playthrough Sad Given that, can someone describe me briefly the two possible scenarios (no spoilers if possible, just "where you end up") and what is in your opinion the most interesting of the two?

Listen to the poor excuse for an explanation from this Phil dude Very Happy

Imho, he almost manage to communicate a thoughtful explanation but he is stopped short by his moronic view on how a 2011 game should play. And then he continues to spew foulmouth garbarge. Sad loser...

Not bashing you, but the kind of game I find shallow, Morrowind was good but I prefer other type of RPGs...

My point is: why "complain" about the open world aspect of TW2 when it clearly isn't that kind of game ? Or does every RPG need to be open world to be good ?

Yeah I see your point. To me an rpg is as much about exploration as story driven gameplay. You take on a roll, you become someone else and your given a world to explore and also to explore the character and develop skills, get new items etc

The guy's a noob, no doubt about it, but there's no way he deserved the kind of reaction and hate he got - so fair play to him. It's pretty amazing how badly some people get treated if they go against the status quo, it really is.

I'll be honest... I haven't seen his videos (and don't intend to) but the comment he makes @ 2:50 about the tutorial popups appearing for just few seconds in the middle of battle and not being able to pause to read them (or often missing them completely because you're focused on something else that's happening on screen) are completely legit. I had to dig up the game manual (something I haven't done since the N64 era, I must admin Very Happy) to learn the basics of combat, since when that tutorial popup appeared there where 3 guys trying to tear me to pieces and I wasn't able to read it.
It's a shame really, because it's such a trivial issue that could've been fixed in a minute by just pausing the game when a tutorial message appears... being a programmer myself, I can say this is what happens when the people doing the development are the same people that do the testing / QA of a piece of software... having developed it means you give something for guaranteed when to an outsider it might be not obvious at all.

On the other hand, this game is so awesome that I'd prepared to read a manual the size of the fucking bible in order to play it. Razz

Btw, didn't this game come with a manual?
I mean, how fucking hard is it picking up the manual and sifting through some of the pages to find what it is you're looking for (and I'm not speaking about part17 but in early video where he's under attack from the dragon, he keeps switching between run and walk a couple of times)?!?
This idiot can't even figure out how to toggle run/walk because he's too lazy to look in the manual or even the keyboard setup. -.-
Obviously this is not a game for him, he's more suited for something like hello kitty online...

Why? Do you have some other game on hold? If so... skip it and play W2 for 2nd time. Very Happy
