If you aren't allergic to it, like me: Try quorn, it can be prepared like any meat.
Also I can recommend all varieties of potatoe, you can mix redbeets + potatoes + spices and make nice veggie-beefs.
Tofu is great for a lot of things, so is chickpeas.
I used to be a vegetarian (for about 1,5 years). It's not that hard to mix things up, it's just comforts/habits preventing you from doing it.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

So stick with non-kosher then. Pork can be pretty good. And bacon of course, lots and lots of bacon!

I've seen those videos too; brutal, disgusting, repulsive, a true torture for the poor animals but... I like meat too much

I was a vegetarian for 5 years...then I started eating meat again and I don't regret it. However, I do feel sorry for the animals.. odd eh?

Our industrialized way of killing animals keeps the prices low but too much meat is thrown away. We could probably kill much less animals if we were ok with the fact that we would have to pay twice as much for the meat... but that won't happen so...
I had chili con carne today and it tasted good

The food industry makes good use of pretty much every part of animal that can conceivably be used already (just needs a powerful enough blender and you can throw in the bones too for good measure), dunno how you could hone the process to be any more efficient.

I like meat and will never quit consuming it. Don't care about the animals and the way they're butchered.

Warning : Lots of blood and animals in pain. Disturbing.

Anyway, that video is appalling but I need my fucking meat. I guess it's in our nature to eat meat and vegetables, so ... nothing wrong, nature is brutal.
But why can't they knock the poor animals the FUCK out before they kill them ?

Thats true. But you're not a real vegetarian if you eat chicken and fish.
I hate you.

And it cost a lot more, and not all ppl can afford that.
The mass murdering animals for food sickens me, but it's all politicized, only the money is important...
I could never be a vegetarian. A balanced diet is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle imo. And eating just vegetables isn't balanced.
I have a friend who also became vegetarian because of animal mistreatment. But hey it's a choice as any, and we are 'free' so...

i could afford it while i was on a budget of like 10 bucks a day, which is well below minimum wage last time i checked, so that point is kinda moot. if people shopped around and cooked everything themselves instead of resorting to ready-to-eat/microwave shit and generally ate less, a much healthier nutrition is possible, even on a budget.

And now I am having a hard time finding a variety of food in the supermarket. |
(Dutch, sorry, but I can't be fucked to find the translations for some of the shit below )

That's cool to hear! I've become a vegetarian for the same reason too. Well "flexitarian" for now. I still like and eat fish a lot. Which is bad considering overfishing. But anything's better for me than supporting the meat industry with their factory farming.
When I saw what was going on with the animals the decision was easy. Recently I also saw the islamic slaughter and I was appalled. Just fucking disgusting and insane. I think the people that work in abattoirs just have to be psychopaths. How the fuck can you cut an animal's head off without feeling bad? Or shoot them through the head. Animal falls in in a large bin underneath, next cow is up, bang in the bin, and so forth. Day in day out. What kind of motherfucker do you have to be to earn your money like that?
I'll just get my protein from vegetables. Like the animals do, like 80% of the world does. Dairy, soy, nuts, legumes, eggs, fish. You eat meat for the TASTE, period. The entire Chinese empire was built on soy ffs.
The fuckers in the meat industry can go fuck themselves in the nostrils.
