Xbox 360 outsold PlayStation 3 version by more than 60 percent.
So much for Valve giving away PC/Mac Steam copies, etc with the PS3 version..

With PSN down, you couldn't sign-in or activate your copy.... naturally people were pissed about that. It's no good offering a free PC version if your customers can't activate it.

Ah, that makes sense, but did they decide to not buy it at all or to buy the inferior (in framerate, visuals, functionality) 360 version? That wouldn't make sense to me!

It's kind of common knowledge that the herpaderp360 is dominating there.
It was the same for UK..
Quote:
1. Portal 2 (EA, Xbox 360)
2. Mortal Kombat (Warner Bros, PS3)
3. Mortal Kombat (Warner Bros, Xbox 360)
4. Portal 2 (EA, PS3)
5. Zumba Fitness (505 Games, Wii)
6. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision Blizzard, PS3)
7. Operation Flashpoint: Red River (Codemasters, Xbox 360)
8. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo, Wii)
9. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision Blizzard, Xbox 360)
10. Pokemon Black Version (Nintendo, DS)
Notice that Mortal Kombat PS3 sold better than 360 there.. but Portal 2 360 sold significantly better than Portal 2 PS3.

That seems strange, because according to the above chart in the UK both MK and CoD: BO sold better on PS3..
Perhaps it's what sabin said, plus it's the first (kinda, there was the EA-ported Orange Box as well) Valve game released on the platform and it didn't win them yet, while there's a strong fanbase (mainly thanks to the L4D games) already on the 360.

I am not through this game yet, currently at chapter 7. Does this game get any harder? Until now I am finding it extremely easy.
It is really fun, and I love the humor, but the puzzles are really nothing special until now...

8, 9 should be harder. 10 is the boss battle etc..

Not really. Some of the co-op puzzles are much harder as you can come up with some clever solutions with four portals.

Can someone explain the goon/crew stuff? I almost max my crew everytime getting pods, slider is at 50%, but whenever i jump or change location my goon stock is always 0 .

I'm at the part of the game where you are underground and that Dave Johnson or whatever he's called guy is talking to you. You know, where you first see the repulsion gel etc.
This game has gotten seriously boring and tedious. Room after room it's the same jokes, the same gameplay. The portal gun feels just gimmicky, there's these open areas and small patches of grey wall where I can actually create a portal.
There is one way to progress and it doesn't feel smart, just tedious. You just slingshot yourself to the right place. It feels like I'm not doing anything. Also, the "story" has devolved in a series of smartass remarks/jokes.
Is it gonna be like this till the end ? If so, I will make some room for TW2, at least that has some gameplay/action/story.
@VGAdeadcafe Obviously the gameplay or humor don't work for you, that's not going to change.

It was working for the first Portal and the first few hours of Portal2. But I must have heard these same jokes 200 times now, before and after the same kind of "puzzles" ... can we move on ?
And since the cast has been expanded I don't think it's "the same jokes" being repeated.
Surely the announcer jokes at the beginning of the game about the Animal King (Turret) Take Over and Emergency Testing, the jokes of GLaDOS calling Chell fat, ugly and adopted, Cave Johnson paying hobos to do testing for him.. were pretty different? (And there are more)
I can understand that the format: joke -> do puzzle -> joke -> do puzzle -> joke... perhaps is not exactly optimal, but the jokes themselves? Some of the funniest I've ever heard in a videogame (or any comedy media for that matter) and much much funnier than in Portal 1, mostly due to the amazing performances of the voice actors.

when life gives you lemons, dont make lemonade. make life take the lemons back! GET MAD!! "I DONT WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS!! WHAT'MA SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE!?" demand to see lifes mannager. MAKE LIFE RUE THE DAY IT THOUGHT IT COULD GIVE CAVE JOHNSON LEMONS!! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!? IM THE MAN WHOS GONNA BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE!! with the lemons... IM GONNA GET MY ENGEINEERS TO INVENT A COMBUSTABLE LEMON THAT BURNS YOUR HOUSE DOWN!!!
like the zero punctuation review said, portal1 was a puzzler with a story, and portal2 is a story with some puzzles thrown in
half of the game is a linear corridor where you just have to find the single pixel where you can put a portal to
do play the coop campaign though
it's so much better than the singleplayer
no story - just puzzles
- Fixed crash that could occur when malformed brushes were saved in a map and then re-opened in Hammer.
- Hammer will now properly save maps after detecting and fixing malformed brushes. Fixes “Permission Denied” error some users were experiencing.
- Removed “Lighting Preview” option as this is not currently supported
