I think the problem also is: the illegal immigrants will reinforce racist stigmas. Crime and poverty will probably increase thanks to them. Right now I'm afraid the "Lampedusa circus" is the rightwing populist's wet dream. I think it's in 3rd world countries own best interest to keep incompetent immigrants inside their own borders. And it would save Europe a few headaches as well.
And 3rd world countries did make Europe wealthy... but I believe that had something to do with slavery, stealing natural resources and massacres. Not with the natives immigrating and contributing to our economies. (Well the Jews probably did.)

You're kind of part of the problem actually.
You move as soon as something does not fit you instead of trying to do something about it. At least most of the immigrants moved out of their countires because of huge problems in their country that didn't permit them to stay there, you just move out because it got a bit "dark"...

When I moved here it was around 75% natives here and the rest immigrants, then some more immigrants moved in and the Swedes started moving out. Yet there was no higher crime-rate, the are wasn't any more dangerous than before and there wasn't any real hostility towards Swedes.

I understand that you'd want to keep you kids as safe as possible, any parent would. I still wouldn't move, I would see it as depriving my kids from learning more about other cultures (even without having to move to a different country), however that's just theoretical as I don't have kids so I can only say what I might do and not what I'd actually do.

Its not just the crime numbers that change its the types of crimes, you find that it goes from drunken, and petty theiving and vandalism crime and when the Africans move in its more serious crimes of theft and violence.
I could sit here and list all the reason why I don't like Africans, I don't mean on an individual basis as I do have black and some of them are Africans ( ghanians ) but as a whole, but I won't its a very long debate.

The point he was getting at was why are they allowed in when they are not part of the EU who have ( to a certain point ) freedom of movement rights for EU citizens, for which Africans are not.

It's not as bad as everyone is trying to make it look like. The neighbourhood is beautiful during the summer, there are lots of nice people around (of course there will be assholes as well).
I remember growing up and getting really mad when litte "hoodrats" started saying stupid shit like "OMG, WE LIVE IN THE GHETTO AND ALL IS SHIT HERE!!", because all I had to do was compare where I live with central Warsaw where my grandparents live (now that was a shithole and dangerous when I was growing up, got mugged there twice and know several people who got stabbed over some bullshit).
There has been a new development in the Lampedusa case. EU dude Barroso has offered Tunisia a ginormous bag of euros (140 million)... provided Tunisia will immediately stop illegal immigration to the EU and take back each and every illegal immigrant that has tried to invade the EU by the route of Lampedusa.
I think it's in Tunisia's own best interest that they agree, because illegal immigrants will only harm their country of origin's image. In Holland at least, North-African immigration has generally become synonymous with poverty and crime. So keep the bad guys out, everybody wins.

Jewish people seem to do fine everywhere. They can adapt to a lot of different societies and cultures and still be good at whatever they might do. So it doesn't really surprise me you and other jewish Poles have no real difficulties doing just fine in Scandinavia. I have never seen lower class Jewish dudes in Holland at least. That would even seem like a contradictio in terminis to me. North-African and Caribbean immigrants on the other hand... if they're in the media, it's mostly very negative. It seems to me some kinds of people have much more difficulties living life the Western way than others. Which doesn't have to be a bad thing of course. But if certain immigrants do cause problems with their way of living, then I would rather see that they return from where they came.

Heh I see people in here who clearly havent lived among the dissidents in question, they are parasites, not by race by gender but by culture. Both receive wellfare and childsupport, the man also receives financial support to study.
This is just one of many examples, they are not necessarily bad, they just dont fit into our system based on different values and are overloading it.

You use the word "poles" in manner that is way too general and frivolous. Some poles are cunts and won't integrate. Many are totally fine - I have met some. Some British are cunts and won't give Poles a chance. Many are totally fine. I could go on but you get the idea
People have the right to self interest and if they see greener grass they will go for it. If the green grass was elsewhere UK citizens would want to go walk on it and migration would happen. Exploitation of the system and criminal activity will ALWAYS occur where it's allowed. There are estates in the UK with NO immigrants and just as much crime because the system is incorrect. Benefit leeching isn't just something that some immigrants avail themselves of. Of course, there are immigrant populations where there is more trouble - it's the fault of the system. Nothing is surprising really. People are very flawed and those flaws are magnified in situations of poverty and population concentration.
I appalud Cameron for his remarks today - He stated facts and addressed the idea that the system is wrong. There are immigrants who have lived and worked here for many years who would also certainly welcome reforms.
Britain did have an amazing muliti-cultural society and it's been undermined and eroded by those who would pander to the idea that people from other countries have an automatic right to protection and support.
In light of growing populations current immigration levels are simply not sustainable. Funding poverty is not the solution. We need to stabilize the situation in the UK and in other European countries so that the existing population isn't put under such pressure to cope with social and economic problems.
Like I said earlier - ppl have the right to self interest. That means all ppl so whilst immigrants have seen the UK and Europe in general as an attractive proposition and I don't blame them for coming here, I personally want my self interest acknowledged and I want their access denied and numbers severely reduced. I'd definitely repatriate any immigrants who commit crime but that in itself isn't so easy because we all observe flaky laws on human rights.

Yes, I'm the kind of person who actually IS an immigrant...
I'm well integrated into the Swedish society yet I'm absolutely (and I would refuse to be) not assimilated into it. To deprive me of another (free) language, to deny me my origins and lineage would be an effing tragedy. Because that is what happens when you assimilate something.
What you seem to want won't work again (a homogenous society), because the world is now too small for that to work.
