So I just got my iPad 2 and LOVE it.
Problem is, I cannot yet jailbreak it!
There has been discussion recently from Chronic Dev Team that it may be coming soon:

I also have an iPhone 4 which is currently running 4.2.1 - I'd love to bump up to 4.3 to get the Safari browser improvements too.
Biggest want right now is a hacked version of the new MyWi on both my iPad2 and iPhone4 - MyWi "OnDemand" is pretty cool... It basically will bluetooth tether your 3G connection from iPhone to iPad ONLY when your iPad is in use, and unlocked and not in a Wifi enabled area. It's all 100% automatic too - no turning on / off hotspots any more.
Mega cool - but first I gotta jailbreak my iPad2!

I wonder how hard it would be to bring the updated Safari to 4.2.1 through Cydia. Shouldn't be that hard, once the files are available.

Yeh but wifi hotspot uses alot more battery than bluetooth tethering. Besides, you need to enable / disable it whenever you want it. MyWi OnDemand creates the Bluetooth tether instantly, and automatically whenever your ipad needs it... pretty coolzilla!
Need to jailbreak 4.3 (my iPad) so that I can install MyWi onDemand so that it will work though - so until then I am leaving my iPhone on 4.2.1 and using MyWi to create a wifi hotspot ...
Roll on a 4.3 jailbreak!!

Ok it has MyWi OnDemand, however I cannot install the cracked/hacked version of MyWi...
In the notes, it tells me to install the legit trial first. I do that, I have 2 or 3 days of the demo trial left, and then attempt to install the cracked version...
I just get loads of errors about being unable to overwrite certain files

Well screw it, the cracked version in xsellize itself just didn't want to work.
I did a bit of googling and found the deb patch at:

Installed that via OpenSSH (First time i've done that!) and MyWi is now fully cracked on my iPhone, including OnDemand.
Now just need to wait for the iPad2 to be jailbroken!!

Last but not the least, since there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 yet, we will have to boot it into a tethered jailbroken state. To do this, we will make use of a utility named âtetheredbootâ as shown in the steps below.
Step 13: Download tetheredboot.zip utility for Mac OS X and extract the .zip file.
Step 14: First, we will need two files from the custom iOS 4.3.1 firmware namely: kernelcache.release.n90 and iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu. To do this, make a copy of your custom iOS 4.3.1 file that you created above, change the extension of this file from .ipsw to .zip, and then extract this .zip file.
Now copy kernelcache.release.n90 file, and then copy iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu files which are found under /Firmware/dfu/.
Move all these files, and tetheredboot utility to a new folder named âtetheredbootâ on the desktop as shown in the screenshot below.
Jailbreak 4.3 (2)
Step 15: Turn off your iOS device, and start Terminal on OS X and run the following commands:
sudo -s
enter your administrator password, then:
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n90
You will have to of course replace âTaimurAsadâ with the name of the directory on your computer.
now press enter.
NOTE: If the above fails, try âtetheredboot -i ibss -k kernelâ instead of âtetheredboot ibss kernelâ:
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot âi
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu -k
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n90
Tip: Simply drag and drop in Terminal â tetheredboot file, then iBSS file and then kernelcache.release file.
Jailbreak 4.3 (3)
You should now see some code running in the Terminal window, at some point, it will ask you to enter DFU mode. Now follow the following steps to enter DFU mode:
* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You device should now be in DFU mode
Now wait for your device to boot, Terminal at this point will be showing âExiting libpois0nâ message. After a short while, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will be booted in a jailbroken tethered mode !

Ah I see.. so yes, pointless lolz.
I also noticed that none of the ipad apps like garage band, real racing 2 hd, notes, etc etc have been cracked / released... I wonder why that is... the ipad1 was jailbroken...

I think it's more a matter of iOS 4.3 than the hardware itself... You know how full of shit the whole cracking "community" is...

I actually thought it might be to cover his face in the reflection of the screen. What with what's happening to GeoHot. I'm probably miles away but at least there is some hope. So how do I go about upgrading my jailbroken iPhone then to 4.3.1 ?

Just upgrade. But if you got many Cydia apps, you might want to save them before, as they don't get carried over AFAIK.
When I upgraded to 4.2.1 my Iphone got stuck, and I had to reset it via Itunes. So make sure to make a backup there as well before upgrading.

Sounds like 4.3.1 jailbreak is very close, but iPad2 not so close. Comex JB does work on iPad2 4.3 (which is what i'm running) but they do not have a legal way of distributing the JB...
