[UPDATE] Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek GmbH stated that his last interview with PCGamer had been altered and that he is in fact not disappointed by the fact that PC gamers are not pirating the game, but with the scene which preferred cracking Barbie's Day Dream, Homefront and Ghostbusters instead.

Crytek's next game will not include Solid Shield protection, as it proved to be too hard to be cracked.
actually i think its more about rambling and ripping on the game. i cant imagine THAT many people really care about a crack.

I skipped the beta just to play this game in it's final state and it got pretty good reviews so far... 12 hours and a lot of freedom inside the maps! Much better than expected! Graphics look very nice too (except for the depth of field which very few developers get right... the way they use it, let's the game and chars look like miniatures...)
I'm still looking forward to playing this. The visual issue doesn't affect me much, since I don't have a DX11-class card and will just be happy I can finally play the damned game. MP beta was..... egh, it had potential. I'll "demo" the game and maybe pick up a cheap key when I get back from England.
Argh Crytek. I just browsed the PS3 ISO and all the assets can be extracted from the .pak files. I assume this is the case for the 360 ISO as well. Only the files for the PC version have been encrypted..
On the plus side, excluding the folder that stores the localized voices (english, spanish, whatever) and the folder that has the shaders, cfgs etc for the engine, comparing the size of the PS3 assets to the PC assets:
PS3: 4.80GB
PC: 5.71GB
which means the PC version does indeed utilize higher quality assets.
