While it looks amazing, especially the lighting, something about the visuals is off. Is it possible that some sort of console "anti aliasing" (blur or anti aliasing shader  ) is active ALL the time? It never looks really sharp, except for the gui.

Indeed it is Pump. They use post-process AA + temporal AA methods they have developed. I don't think they can be completely disabled but perhaps they can be reduced because the lower the graphics preset you use, the less AA is being applied, so perhaps you can mix + match presets + amount of AA using the console or system.cfg. But while playing, in motion, not in screenshots, it's not a big problem, and it clears a fuck-ton of nasty aliasing artifacts Crysis 1 had (fucking vegetation looked horrible!)
Perhaps DX11 will allow proper MSAA.. also they have worked with nvidia to showcase SRAA working in Crysis 2, so maybe that will be an option as well in the future.

theres a very detail info about their AA method you can find on beyond3d even a video, its just a edge filter for close up and temporal AA for distance objects. Dirt cheap performance. Its 3d is also some crap cardboard cut out (only 3 planes) 3d that doesn't require much resources, full artical here

hopefully the PC version is true stereoscopic 3d. Oh wait forgot this is a console port......

I think when you play REALLY Crysis 2, your graphic card can enhance visual effects and image quality, and more to have images in front of eyes is always better than just screenshots.

Perhaps the texture hasn't been properly loaded (yet).
Also from what I'm reading MP is confirmed to be 8 vs 8 (the demo was 6 vs 6, consoles are 6 vs 6 too)

I didn't expect the graphics settings to be limited to pre-defined settings. After playing the demo I expected the full game to have a more feature complete configuration manager.

i just downloaded the multi 5 crysis 2 iso, and the fucking installer doesn't work.
easetup.exe just crashes. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Are you sure the ISO is ok? You can try disabling your AV and trying again, just in case.

I didn't say Crysis 2 looks much more impressive, no. But what I'm saying is that Crysis 1 doesn't look much more impressive. Both games look very good, each of them has its own unique look and art style, and I can't say one definitely looks much better than the other.
