I'll never get these modders - they make such an effort and achieve great results, but then get cold feet or lose interest in their project. It always happens after that awesome promising trailer too (DX HDTP for example).
I'm done getting excited about any gaming project that's offered for free.

Valve: 'It would be fun to remake Half-Life 1'

He added: "You know, it's fun to think about that stuff but almost always you're better moving forward than you are looking back."
Johnson joked that if a remake did house cut content, "the Stukabat still wouldn't make it [in]". |

Actually one of the only games I'm really waiting on, and up till now nothing has been said or released about it except for some old concept art. I really hope Ep3 or HL3 for that matter will be released this year (it's already long overdue) and comes with an new upgraded Source engine.

No way it comes out this year. They already have Portal 2 and Dota 2 for this year. But I believe it is possible it wiill be revealed this year: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66034 and released, maybe, in 2012?
Also I don't think they will use a new engine, they'll keep updating the current Source engine instead of doing a complete rewrite.
Portal 2 now has dynamic-like lighting and shadowing, new water, glass, etc shaders, new liquid-like particle effects. They have confirmed it's top priority right now to improve their editing tools. And Dota 2 is supposed to bring cloth physics in Source.
It wouldn't make sense to keep updating the current Source engine and its tools, if they were to announce their next game will ditch all that.
edit Oh, and a remake of HL by Valve is definitely not happening, as long as ep3 hasn't been released.
