Thanks for the link ixigia, doesn't look anything special tho. I don't see this "new vision" id keeps talking about, looks like a shooter, with driving sequences.

It looks too much like Borderlands, which I love it, but that doesn't mean I want another game exactly the same. Other than that, it doesn't look bad, but not anything very good or special either. A long time ago I was really excited about this one, but I lost more and more interest in it with every info revealed about it.

I think thats a tad big unfair. We saw first screenshots of rage, before we saw screenshots of borderlands.
And also, I don't think they look similar at all. Its just another sand environment, new vegas had one as well.

I really hope it's NOTHING like Borderlands. Borderlands was such a disappointment. I grew sick of it after 15 minutes when I realized it was an empty and shallow game with tons of repetitiveness.

Borderlands is really only fun if you play with a friend or two IMO.
Few years ago, he said that DirectX has been improved a lot and he finds them about the same, but now he agrees that OpenGL is always a step behind.
However he also says that OpenGL works fine for them, and due to the way their tools are tied to the renderer it's a lot of code to rewrite to switch to DirectX , so the PC version will continue to use OpenGL.
I guess OpenGL died on AAA PC games a looong time ago, but it has been reborn as OpenGL ES and it will live long in mobile devices (iPhone etc).

Yep, it's strongly reminiscent of Far Cry 2's gameplay and its inescapable repetitiveness. Hope it turns out in a totally different direction.
Hmm, it could have some repetitive gameplay in it. But if that would be actually fun (and not in the stupid arcadish shallow Far Cry 2 style), things could be quite fun.
Just a couple of weeks before Rage is released you will be able to check out an adaptation of id Software's next first person shooter in convenient prose form. Publisher Bethesda Softworks announced that a novel version of the post-apocalyptic game will be released via Del Rey on August 30. The game itself is due out on September 13.
The novel goes deeper into the storyline for Rage and is being written by Matt Costello who is a long time collaborator with id on the third Doom game and also on Rage. Costello has previously written two novels based on the storyline for Doom 3.
But hey it's iD so it's not supposed to be good gameplay
